Richard Middleton

Richard "Dick" Middleton enlisted on August 11, 1862, as a Private in Company D, 22nd Texas Infantry, Hubbard's Regiment, for nearly four years. He received a Confederate Pension (Comptroller's File No. 2980), which was approved on October 5, 1899. Richard Middleton and Charity Jane Robbins married on November 7, 1864 in Angelina County, Texas.
After his death, his widow, Charity Jane Robbins Middleton, also made a Widow's Application for Pension, which was filed on August 4, 1910 and approved on August 31, 1910. Both of these documents are on file in the State Archives, Austin, Texas.

Richard Middleton was born in Madison County, Alabama on May 7, 1829 and died in Milam County, Texas, on May 4, 1910. He is buried at Harmony Cemetery near Rockdale in Milam County, Texas. Richard Middleton and Charity Jane Robbins Middleton had ten children: John W.; Etta; Eddie; Oscar; Dora; Annie; Billie K.; George M.; Della; and Lillie Mae. He was a farmer by trade.
