H.D. Sells

SELLS, H. D., “CAPTAIN” “REGIMENTAL QUARTERMASTER”, (Plot 5; Evergreen Cemetery), Born: 08th Day of June, 1837. Died: 20th Day of October, 1904. Enlisted in the service of the Confederate States of America, in September, 1862, and served “Honorably” as a “Private” in Company “C”, 25th Regiment “Texas Cavalry”, C.S.A. He was at his time of enlistment a resident of Jasper, Jasper County, Texas. He was “Honorably” discharged from said Confederate service in May, 1865, by “Parole” at Jonesbury, North Carolina. At which time he held the rank of “Regimental Quartermaster”, “Captain”. (Obtained from “Southern Cross of Honor” application…his writing).
