Jeptha Stellings, Sr.

STELLINGS, JEPTHA SR., enlisted in the service of the Confederate States of America in November, 1863, and served “Honorably” as a “Private” in “Turner’s Battery of Light Artillery, C.S.A. He was at his time of enlistment a resident of Quitman, Mississippi. He was “Honorably” discharged from said Confederate service May 20, 1865, by “Captain” Turner. At which time he held the rank of “Private”. (Obtained from “Southern Cross of Honor” application…his writing).
