William D. Street
STREET, WILLIAM D., ( Plot 3; Evergreen Cemetery), (needs headstone fixed), Born: January 13, 1842. Deceased: March 21, 1916. Enlisted in the service of the Confederate States of America, in February, 1861, and served “Honorably” as a “Private” in Company “I”, 19th “Mississippi Infantry”, C.S.A. He was at his time of enlistment a resident of Marshall County, Mississippi. He was “Honorably” discharged from said Confederate service in April, 1865, by being at home on wounded furlough when General Robert E. Lee surrendered. At which time he held the rank of “Private”. (Obtained from “Southern Cross of Honor” application…his writing). Received a Confederate pension from the State of Texas. Pension # 27941.
