WILSON, RICHARD G., Enlisted in the service of the Confederate States of America, on the 13th day of May, 1861, and served “Honorably” as a “Private” in Company “K”, 12th Regiment of “Mississippi Infantry”, C.S.A. He was at his time of enlistment a resident of Port Gibson, Mississippi. He was “Honorably” discharged from said Confederate service on the 9th day of April, 1865, by General W. S. Grant when General Robert E. Lee surrendered. At which time he held the rank of “Private”. (Obtained from “Southern Cross of Honor” application…his writing). Received a Confederate pension from the State of Texas. Pension # 34648. Wife: Annie Schreiber Wilson. Deceased: September 06, 1898, 54 years old.
