Bio

Retaliate formed in 1997 by Jude Sisk, Jon Cosky, and Tony Norris. They had been in various bands together but decided to start a band that had a purpose. They wanted create a better hardcore scene in Houston. Blending their own style of hardcore with a little metal and punk to keep their own identity. The sole purpose of the band was instill a since of unity and pride being from Houston, hence, bringing more people in the scene. Retaliate began playing shows in December 1997 and January 1998. Friends and fans of past bands were mixed about the new band. It was much harder than they were used to and weren't sure about the new direction. This became even more evident when drummer Tony Norris was asked to leave the band. Retaliate however forged on. The band played in garages for months because they had trouble schedueling shows. The band temporarily came to an end in a two song melee which caused Jon and Jude to reevaluate their dedication. The band reformed with the original members and in the summer of 1998, they recorded a full length CD, called Stand Proud, at SugarHill Studios. Since then, they have been playing shows just about every weekend with both local and national bands. Recently, more adversity struck when Tony quit saying he didn't have heart or dedication to keep going. Retaliate now has a new drummer Harold Rucker. Retaliate then began playing shows all over Texas with their new line-up, but still felt that something in the band was missing. In late March of 99 Retaliate decided to add a fourth member. They added a new bass player, Shawn Terry, who was a long time friend of theirs. Other changes were made. Guitarist Jon Cosky moved to vocals, while bassist Jude Sisk moved to guitar. Now that all the members have refocused their attention Retaliate is playing better than ever.
