DATE: Thu, 18 Mar 1999 00:01:33As many of you are aware, the life of a member of our "Pageant Family" was taken in a tragic automobile accident this week. Abbie DeWees, Miss Teen Woodlands America 1999, was killed in an automobile accident in the Houston/Woodlands area on Tuesday, March 16, 1999.
Abbie also held the title of Miss Teen Lakes Area 1997 and competed at the Miss Teen Texas America Pageant.
Visitation will be held at Forest Park Funeral Home in the Woodlands on I-45 on Friday evening, March 19, 1999. Services for Abbie and her friend, Amy, who was traveling with her will be held at The Woodlands High School on Research Forest Drive in The Woodlands on Saturday, March 20, 1999 at 1:00 PM. Both young ladies were students at The Woodlands High School.
The State Association of Miss Texas Local Scholarship Organizations will start a scholarship fund in Abbie's name for this summer's Miss Teen Texas America Pageant contestants. Additional information will be forthcoming. If you have any questions or ideas, please feel free to e-mail me.
