SQUIRREL NUT ZIPPERS IN CONCERT
I wore my violet v-neck short sleeve violet silk shirt and my black flared jeans and black Doc-Martens. My best gal pal Mary came along for the ride. She wore a long sleeve army green ruffled neck shirt, flared blue jeans and her silver Doc-Martens. We came prepared to see the show.
I ventured out into the jungle of bodies seeking to catch a glimpse of my favorite band the Squirrel Nut Zippers. The lights darkened and I carused through the crowd to stand right in front of the middle of the stage. I looked back and was gonna go get Mary but she was stuck in the 2nd row of chairs and the people were forming a wall. She smiled and I smiled back and kind of shrugged that I really couldnt come get her but she was cool with it.
I met this wonderful guy in a boller hat. He took off his jacket and he had on a white tank on under it. We caught each others eyes. We danced, fed each other ice, as we danced. Cutting a rug to the music of the Squirrel Nut Zippers.
The Zippers played all of there songs and several new ones
*****************************ALERT ALERT NEW LIVE CD COMES OUT SEPTEMBER 9th.************************
I clapped and screamed and pleaded for an encore. I was hot and sweaty covered in sweat and I loved it. You didnt care cause so was everyone else. It was the kind of heat you crave and enjoy. We ran into people dancing and smashed other peoples feet. But we were all united by the music one big family dancing and cutting a rug to the smooth blues and fast tempo of the Squirrel Nut Zippers.
This page is dedicated to the man in the boller hat. If I ever see him again I will get his number. hehe
Great Music: The Squirrel Nut Zippers
Great dancing partner: the tall thin man in the boller hat
Great refreshment:Ice to quench our thirsts
Great Friend to share it with: Mary And a whole roll of film to record the whole experience That turned out ok. But not good enough to scan. Also went to another concert. This one was held at The Bronco Bowl in Ft Worth. I got there just in time. The place was packed and I brought my mom with me. She sat in the chairs and I took to the dance floor. And got so close to the stage. Course you couldnt get as close as I could at the last concert. But it was close enough. They played old songs and newer ones from the newest album. Which by the way if you havent gotten it yet you should. Perennial Favorites. And they are coming out with a Christmas album as well. I got two dollar bills they threw to the audience when they played Hell. Another wonderful concert. More to come. Soon Keep on Swinging.
