My Heart, My Soul, My Dreams
I have something important to tell you, and
I'm trying to find the best way.
Every word I speak is true; but
I find them difficult to say.
I have many problems, and
It is difficult to find a place to start.
The most important is a deep, dark secret
That lies deep within my heart.
This is a story about my life, and
How it changed dramitically one day.
It could be thought of as a bad thing,
OR possibly in a positive way.
My youth had been taken
Quite sometime ago,
By my long time childhood friend
Even after I said "NO!"
Afterwards I felt empty;
All I wanted was to hide.
I knew no one would believe me,
So I shut the memory up inside.
Before this I did not want to live,
I felt my lige had gone on to long.
He changed my look at life;
In ONLY this ~ Did he do no wrong.
For a while I had no one to talk to
Until I met someone just like me.
I knew that I could trust her;
I knew that she would believe.
Because of what happened;
She showed me who I could be.
Through my suffering and pain,
I found the goodness inside of me.
Yes ~ My childhood he has taken, and
My trust has shattered much, but
From the lessons I have learned,
I realize that My heart, My soul, and
My dreams,
He shall never touch.
THE GIFT
God took hold of me one night, and
He said, "Close your eyes and open your
heart.
For I have for you a most wonderous gift, but
If not used wisely it will fall apart."
I did just as he said... I took a deep
breath and closed my eyes...
He continued, "My child... this gift will
heal wounds and dry tears from your
lonely cries.
It will cause a warmth inside of you
that will slowly begin to grow...
It is a feeling that only those with this gift
will ever understand and know.
It will join souls and hearts, and
People hand in hand.
It is a gift when treated properly
Shows up in abundance across the land."
I said, "Lord please give me this gift,
I cannot wait.
I wanna understand, know, and feel
this wonderouss gift and all that it can
create."
He replied, "Patience my child for there is
a few things I think you should hear.
Misuse this gift and you and others will
be hurt and other things I think you
should fear.
But the rest I believe you will have to
learn as you go,
For this gift, as special as it is, becomes more
wonderous if you let it grow.
We up here have no describable word for it
although it was sent from us up above,
But down there is the most simple word
For the most complicated thing called --- LOVE.
Use it wisely, for it can either break you or create you.
"An Angel Of A Friend"
There are many angels all around us.
From experience, this I know.
But it wasn't until recently,
That I learned that this was so.
For I have met one, and
She looked just like you and me.
But it was what thrived in her heart and soul,
That made her so angelic -- so heavenly.
When you met her, you'd never forget it.
For she made you feel welcome -- instead of just a "Hi."
And when you went your separate ways,
It was always a hug -- instead of an empty goodbye.
She was always so kind, and
There was never a moment when she wasn't polite.
She'd take care of you when you took ill, and
When things went wrong, she'd never leave you,
Until she was sure you'd be all right.
For some reason, there were times when,
To her, I was unkind.
Yet, even though I hurt her, she still cared, and
I knew forgiveness was never very far behind.
After all I had done to her, she still loved me.
Why? I may never really know.
But one day she transformed my soul, and
This change in my heart will always show.
It was an early summer evening, and
I was returning from my usual walk.
When my neighbor came up to me, and
Said that he just wanted to talk.
So talk we did, maybe even laughed a little,
Until it seemed it was getting kind of late.
So I said I needed to go inside, and
Instead of saying goodbye, he asked me on a date.
When I said, "I'm sorry, but I think not."
He seemed disappointed, even a little sad.
But when I saw the gleam of hate in his eyes,
I knew he was way beyond just "a little mad."
He threw me to the ground, and
Whipped out his pocket knife.
He cut me up pretty bad, and
Beat me within an inch of my life.
He left me there unmoving, Searching for
The breath so difficult to find.
It hurt too much to think, So "Owe" was
The only thing running through my mind.
It seemed that this was it.
This was surely the place where I was going to die.
I prayed to the Lord my Savior, But
I did not curse him, I only asked him "Why?"
Soon, I felt myself start to fade.
I felt my soul leave me and begin to slip away.
When suddenly I was awakened by
The most comforting voice saying "God is with you. You'll be ok."
I opened my eyes to see my best friend kneeling over me.
Tears swelling up in her large blue eyes.
I felt I might be going soon, so I began my final
farewell -- my very last goodbyes.
She placed her fingers upon my lips, and
Told me not to say a word.
We sat there silently, 'till our heartbeats were
The only sounds to be heard.
She closed her eyes for a moment, and when
She opened them they were a deep, sad blue.
And from the look on her face,
It seemed the once impossible was going to come true.
She whispered softly, "You are very dear to me.
You've been an angel of a friend. I'd do anything for you
And I know that you would too.
So as Jesus died for me, I will die for you."
These last words were spoken as I
Took my last and final breath.
It seemed I had just ended the chapter
To what seemed my tragic death.
She place her hand upon me cheek, and
Her head upon my heart. And with this
I began to cry.
For it was her heart that had stopped beating.
She'd do anything to save me. So she chose to die.
The physical scars eventually healed, But
The emotional ones take more time to mend.
People tend to ask me if I am thankful to her
for saving me. I always reply, "Yes, but more so
Because she took the time to be my friend."
My Prayers
I know when you are full of sorrow
There is not much one can say,
Except that you are not alone
When troubles come your way.
Good times come from the
Things that seem to be so bad.
Good things come from the
Times when you are feeling sad.
Someone is always watching
You from above, and
Although it may sometimes seem like it
You are not with out his love.
Right now you may have your doubts,
But every word I say is true.
Your in my heart now more than ever,
and my thoughts and prayers are with you.
"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted
and saves those who are crushed in spirit."
Psalm 34:18
God's Unforgetable Tale
At the end of eternity there will be a time.
A time when you will be totally at peace
with the world.
You will walk among the clouds within the light
of the angels in heaven.
You will gaze into your shadow, and
see your life below.
You will remember everything and everyone.
You will smile as you remember every friend,
You will sigh as you recall every foe.
You will relive the times that seemed to be so bad.
You will rejoice at the good times, and
shed more tears at the times that seemed so sad.
You will fall to the bottom of the same valleys, and
you will stand triumphantly at the top of the
same mountains.
You will travel down the same roads,
Reliving every twist and every turn.
You will swim in the water below every bridge
you crossed.
You will sift through the ashes of every bridge
you burned.
You will feel the pain of every untrue word ever
spoken.
You will once again savor every hug, and
each tender kiss.
You will smile at the times when you held
your head high, and
Laugh at those who tried to bring you down.
You will remember everyone you helped, and
thank those who helped you.
You will feel lonely once again at the times
you thought you were alone.
You will feel nostalgia as you remember the
words of those who made a difference
in your life.
You will remember the first time you met your
best friend, and
You will cry when you see what made your friendship
so special.
You will one again set your same goals, and
relive every dream that became a reality.
You will redream all those that did not.
You will realize that everyone in your life
has a purpose.
Those who believed in you, as well as
those who doubted you.
Those who sided with you, and
those who gave you another side to consider.
Those who made you laugh and
those who made you cry.
Those who knew you would succeed,
When others thought you would fail.
As you recall every moment of your life
You will realize that everyone and everything
Are the characters and plots to a wonderful
story, and you...
You are the hero in God's unforgettable tale.
The Butterfly
There was this young girl
Who lived quite sometime ago.
She loved her mother very much, and
She decided to make her a gift
to let her know.
She sat down and set to work, and
She created a beautiful wax butterfly.
When she was finished she was very
Pleased with herself, "Mother will love this,"
She said with a twinkle in her eye.
With excitement to please, she ran up
to her mother with a bit of a bounce
in her stride.
She gave it to her mother and said "I love you."
With a frown the mother said "The wing isn't right."
The little girl, disappointed, decided to fix it.
"It will be perfect. It will look just like new."
But time and time again, the mother would shake
her head and the little girl wasn't sure what to do.
Upset, the little girl tossed the butterfly
in her closet and she began to cry.
All she wanted was to make her mother happy, but
she had failed and she didn't understand why.
The Lord spoke up, "My dear child, There is no reason
to cry, There is nothing wrong with the butterfly
as far as I can see."
In the faintest voice she replied "The wing is broken, I
Cannot fix it, and my mother isn't proud of me."
The Lord said, "Your focus is too narrow and you
concentrate too much on just that one part.
In order to see it for all that it is, you cannot look
upon it with your eyes, you must look with you heart.
That wing isn't broken, It is what makes that butterfly
unique. There isn't another one like it and there never will be.
Just like that butterfly, You are one of a kind. In my eyes
You are so beautiful and so very wonderful to me.
So look at that butterfly for all that it is, and
You will see that what I say is true.
Nothing I create is a mistake. That butterfly is perfect
Just the way it is... and so are you."
The girl finally understood and the next time she looked
She saw that beautiful butterfly for all that it could be.
Smiling she said, "This is the most beautiful butterfly
I've ever seen. Wow, I sure am proud of me."
