I'm a 26-year old from Leeds, UK who graduated from the University of Manchester and now works in sunny (?) Manchester in the wonderful world of Software Engineering. This page started in 1997 as part of my degree coursework but then rapidly mutated...
I've been a huge hip-hop follower for years. I've got a pretty good collection of stuff and some of my favourite artists are Wu-Tang, Above The Law, Nas, Blak Twang, and Redman as well as guys like Rakim, EPMD, the Ultramagnetic MC's and Public Enemy from further back. I do a few of beats myself on the side, as well as scratching and mixing. Samples of my stuff and my mixtapes are available through the links on the front page. As far as other types of music, I like to listen to funk like George Clinton, Zapp & Roger Troutman (RIP), and other assorted stuff (as long as it's good). Orbital are another favourite.
I support the New Orleans Hornets in the NBA, even though they make some absolutely baffling personnel moves. They turned out to be right about Baron Davis, but I'm pretty salty that they refused to pay Paul Silas what he was worth. Anyway, my favourite player all time has to be Mike #23, looks like he's finally ridden off into the sunset...I used to go check out the Manchester Giants but they've gone under so it's just watching on TV right now. And yes, I've played quite a bit myself, hence the name...
Video games - the Game Boy Advance has finally allowed me to get back into that. Reading about black history, hoops, hip-hop, science, plus literature by guys like Iceberg Slim and Richard Wright. I like to check out a film from time to time, especially John Woo and old kung-fu (with dubbing), or some good comedy like Richard Pryor. In addition to my beatmaking and DJing, I'm starting to make baby steps in the world of video. Look out for that "Best Short Film" Oscar in 2007 :o)
