Capcom vs SNK is the first game where Street Fighter characters fight King of Fighters characters. Capcom made the Dreamcast version of the game and SNK made the Neo Geo Pocket Version of the game. I prefer the NGPC version over the DC version because I like the way it plays better and I like the character selection better. The DC version only has SF characters and KOF characters with the exception of Nakoruru from Samuri Showdown and Morrigan from Darkstalkers. The NGPC version has a much more diverse selection of characters, and more character I like, such as Felicia and Athena. Also the NGPC version has the better super moves and even new super moves that you can buy for your characters after you collect a certain amount of points. I only play the DC version from time to time because it has Cammy in it.
In the DC version you can choose between two fighting styles,
Capcom groove and SNK groove. Capcom groove plays
like a Capcom game where you have a super bar and it builds
up with the more moves that you do. You can perform a level 1,
level 2, or level 3 super move. SNK groove plays like KOF95
where you build up your super meter by powering up. To power up
you hold strong punch and strong kick. When you power up enough
to fill your super meter you can do a level 1 super move. When you
are low on life your health bar flashes red and you can do infinite
super moves. If you power up and have a full super meter while your
life is red you can do a level 3 super move. I prefer SNK groove to
Capcom groove because of the infinite super moves and also
because I think the SNK artists character drawings look better.
Capcom vs SNK isn't the worst game in the world, but all things
considered it is dissapointing. Like Marvel vs Capcom 2, SNK vs
Capcom uses 4 buttons. Capcom has already announced
Capcom vs SNK 2.
