Les Claypool's Frog Brigade

The Palace Theatre

October 15, 2002

Hollywood, California

All photographs were taken by me (Russell Solomon) with a disposable camera!

The opening act was MIRV. They totally ROCKED!

Les Claypool jammed with MIRV. He is wearing an alien mask. He is playing the Whamola Stick. It is a one string electric upright bass with a whammy bar attached to the top. This instrument was made by a fan and given to Mr. Claypool. Les plays it with a drumstick. It sounds whamolicious.

One more shot of MIRV.

Frog Brigade was next. Les Claypool is tapping his bass on this one.

Here is a picture of Les bowing his electric upright bass.

Here is a shot of Eenor (who plays guitar and the Jim Bush fretless banjo)

Les Claypool is the Thrash-Funk Master!

Here is a shot of Les and Skerik (the saxophone player).

Another shot of Skerik and Les.

MIRV came out on stage during the Frog's set. Here he is showing off his Saw (it was a regular wood saw hooked up to an electronic pickup which was hooked up to a guitar amplifier)

Here is MIRV playing his Electrified Saw with a violin bow during the song "Cohibas Esplenditos." The electrified sound was amazing - it sounded like an eerie wailing electric guitaresque sound. Simply amazing to hear live!

It was an awesome show! Thank you Mr. Claypool, and your Wonderful Frog Brigade for delivering an outstanding performance!
