The Wreck and Rebuild
Well, for those of you who didn't know, this not so intellegent woman ran a red light and smashed my car. The insurance company tried to total it. But, when you walk into an agent's office with a significant amount of modification reciepts, they tend to change their minds about it. So now we've moved onto fixing it and painting the whole thing while we are at it.
Here are a few from when it was on the frame machine. We straightened the frame and welded a new core support in. After straightening, the front end measured within 2mm of factory specs. The tolerance is plus or minus 4mm Industry standard for collision repair.
These next two images show how much picky wade is about the work he does. If you look closely at the passenger side rail, you'll notice how crushed it is. Then, in the second image, you'll notice how straight it is. Wade spent a whole saturday working on that to get it like it is. A piece that is going to get covered up and never seen again looks factory just because Wade didn't want it to look like it had been wrecked. I was impressed to say the least.
Here's a couple pictures of it in the booth ready for primer.
Here are a couple of the nice Pink guidecoat wade put on so he was sure i'd sand it off quickly.
Here's a few of it after our knees and back hurt from trying to get to the bottoms of the doors so we put it on jackstands.
