I had grown up in the Lutheran church. Gone to the classes and was confirmed. We had to memorize everything to be confirmed. During conformation I was just reciting what I had memorized and not really meant it in my heart. My father died 2 days after my 16th b-day. I went into a deep depression and contemplated suicide. I went to a shrink,that didn't help,the urge for suicide stopped. My depression didn't stop until I went to a weekend retreat called Chrysalis(part of the Emmaus walks). At that retreat I accepted Jesus into my heart. I was still drinking and going to the Lutheran church after that though. I stopped drinking on Nov.24 1996. I woke up with the worst headache ever after drinking the night before. I went to SALT 1998(a Chi Alpha conference) and God sent the Holy Spirit to me for 3hrs. As a result of that I was water baptized on Feb.12,1998. I have just become a member of First Assembly of God and continue to grow in the Lord and my faith.
