First let's take a look at downtown Austin

The key destinations are as shown below.

Sixth Street is predominantly a Commercial Space dominated by restaurants, bars and live music playing eating and recreational joints.

Residential Use of this area is practically non-existent.

Some offices are located in some of the historic buildings of the street.

The streetlife is at its effervescent best after dark till the wee hours of the morning and in the weekends it is even more so.

The real ‘residents’ of the area are the people frequenting the establishments and people serving in those places; waiters, musicians etc. These two types are not entirely distinct from each other.

The different blocks ( numbered 100-700 ) of the Sixth Street entertrainment precinct are as shown below.

On the other side of the Congress Avenue, the Sixth Street Precinct continues to form the Warehouse district of the downtown Austin.
