Paul Kelly & Jimmy Jones' "Texas Tremor" Outlaw Fuel Altered

Team Info:

Driver - Jimmy Jones
Owner - Paul Kelley & Jimmy Jones

Team Bio - Jimmy has been racing since the early seventies, first in with a 1948 Anglia bracket car at Kennedale and Green Valley Race City mostly (first met Bobby Marriott while racing his 69 Camaro at Green Valley). Next, came a set of injectors and some nitro for the Anglia, and Jimmy raced in the Texas Pro Anglia Circuit. That lasted a couple of seasons then came the first funny car in 1976, which was called "Jokers Wild". This was a blown alcohol car with an iron BBC that raced with the All American Funny Car Series until the early eighties. That car crashed at a match race in Temple, Texas while on loan to James Brown & Ray Russell.

After re-grouping for a couple of years, Jimmy teamed with new partners Jack Castle, Ronny Doran, and Jerry Holder to campaign the first "Texas Tremor" Top Alcohol Funny Car in 1984. This lasted through the mid to late nineties, when current partner Paul Kelly, who had joined the team a few years earlier as part of the crew, became partners with Jimmy. The team ran a series of funny cars under the "Texas Tremor" banner with the All America Funny Car Series through 1992 along with NHRA events up to 2010, with the best years being 2005 & 2006 when they claimed NHRA Division IV Top Alcohol Funny Car Championships.

Paul, Jimmy, and the Texas Tremor Team jointed the OFAA mid-way of the 2010 season, competing against a lot of new competition, and re-kindling competition with the likes of Bobby Marriott, Larry Reep, and Todd Simpson from past funny car days. Currently, Jimmy continues to practice pharmacy and Paul runs Paul Kelly, Inc. Trucking after building high end custom homes for the past 3 decades.
