Torn, scarred, and dying inside,
You try to think of something that will make this pain die.
There has to be something that will numb this ache,
Something that will heal the scars that left your heart to break.
So you turn and hide your heart away,
Away from people who can tear it apart.
You shut yourself off to where you can't feel,
For the pain left from those you once loved is all too real.
Tired of the lies and pain everywhere,
Tired of the words that caused your heart to tear.
You close your ears and your eyes to all those around,
Hoping that your torn heart will never be found.
You're tired of being ripped apart,
Tired of being lied to and used,
Wishing that somehow your heart could be made new.
Oh why can't people understand what they say,
When they tell you they love you then walk away?
Don't they know what they're saying when they say those words?
Or are they only a phrase to be heard?
Slowly you become someone else,
Someone who doesn't care anymore.
Someone who's cold and merely exists,
For living is too hard if it means feeling all this.
Then you see Him standing there,
Telling you He loves you and that you're dear.
But all you can think is that they're lies once again,
And that to love someone you will let all the hurt back in.
Compassion and mercy shine from His eyes,
As if to tell you that He wants to wash away all the lies.
He knows that mending your scarred heart won't do,
So He takes the brokenness and replaces it with something new.
Reluctantly you give it to Him,
And slowly you believe that you can trust someone again.
He takes away the lies,
And in it's place fills it with the truth.
The truth is what sets you free,
The truth is what gives you the strength to believe.
To believe in love that's strong and true,
To believe that someone can really love you.
Now that you have been set free,
You turn to a world that's broken and in need.
You can see the pain in their eyes,
And all the sorrow that they're feeling inside.
So you fall to your knees and ask Him to send them to you,
All those that feel the way you once did.
So you can tell them that they can again live.
.
Live in a world full of love and not pain,
Live in a world full of hope and not shame.
You are anointed to show them His love,
For He has shown you the compassion from above.
You are anointed to set all those once like you free,
Because you have seen the truth and know that in love you can once again believe.
There has to be a way to give it all up,
There has to be a way to shine like the stars.
To say the words that You would say,
To turn the dark into the day.
Jesus give me the power to break the chains,
To cast out demons in Your name.
To comfort them with Your heart,
To tear their whole world apart.
The world is searching for something real,
For something that has the power to heal.
They're dying and fighting and screaming to find,
The Truth that washes away the lie.
Oh God forgive us who know,
But do not even attempt to show,
That we have found the secret they're screaming for,
We have found the keys to unlock heaven's door.
Oh why do we deny the hearts that always cry,
Oh why do we allow their souls to die.
Why do we who have the power,
Never reach beyond our own selfish pride,
To give this world the keys,
To see the world that they can't see.
Who will be the one to lose all they have?
Who will be the one to die in their soul?
Who will be the one to let the world know…
You are the compassion their hearts are seeking,
You are the one for who they're weeping.
You are the One who gives us a reason,
To reach beyond today toward a future full of dreams.
Oh let me be the one to make You shine,
To heal the scars left by time.
To break the chains that bind their hearts,
To show them who they really are.
For more than anything I want to be,
Your shining start so they can see,
Your glory,
Your power,
Your majesty.
Oh God make me nothing,
For only when I lose it all will I become something.
Oh for all the people,
Tear me apart,
Take me to the place where You can use my heart.
For in my soul there is a passion,
To show them You.
To let them know,
Oh how You love them so.
Sometimes I'm afraid I'll never be loved
Or not nearly as much as with the love I love you
I don't know if this will ever end
Because you see me as no more than a friend
So I sit here feeling alone
Looking at the crowd of people
It's like looking through a glass door
Not being able to get through
I'm crying inside and no one knows
I'm not sure why but I feel sick
Like something along the way went wrong
Like I'm not supposed to be here and I'm out of place
I'm like a china doll, pretty and fair
But I'm mixed in with clowns
No one seems to care
No one smiles of says hello
We're all clowns and it's a masquerade
No one is themselves, we're all hiding behind a dark shade
In a shadow our true selves lurk
No one ever sees them but those precious few
Who we chose to reveal our true selves to
It's a masquerade, no one is real
Behind the smiles there is pain that can't be cured with any pill
No one will know or ever care
No one's allowed to see past the masquerade fair
It's like there's two of me and two of you
One is fake the other's true
For some reason though, the true is dimmed and the fake shines through
This isn't the way it was meant to be
I was meant to know you and you to know me
So the next time you walk into a room
Shine so bring that your mask falls off
The true you is revealed and the world can see
And if you're lucky, maybe someday you'll see the real me
"Sweet Jesus"
Jesus is calling to her.
If only she knew she was His shining star,
"Destiny's Sweet Mystery"
Does today change tomorrow?
Is there an eternal purpose?
Is existence merely living?
And do we see what in us lies,
"Dim Reflection of the Truth"
All we know is vague and dim,
When the very things that we can't see,
This dark glass we're looking through,
Oh Jesus, why do we say we understand?
“Someday”
And though I don’t know your name
Because you see
So always remember, when you feel alone
A passion deeper than the ocean
So always remember that I’ll be here
Never forget that someday you’ll be mine
“He Died For You”
I look at the birds and the deep blue sea
It’s a gift that you offer us
I don’t know why, but some people never see
I know it wasn’t easy, in fact you cried
It’s just one simple prayer
With an instant everything is washed away
"You"
You were lost and now you’re free
So now I see that you’ve always loved me
They say until “death do us part” but even after that
It hasn’t always been easy you know
"What Will You Do?"
It’s not midnight and getting late
Is that the way it is?
Soon you too will be dead
It will then be too late
So maybe you’re right,
She sits by the window staring at the stars,
Crying gently over all the years' scars.
She prays silently to herself that somehow time will stop it all,
With each breath she can hear Him call.
He wants to wipe her tears away,
He wants to tell her everything will be ok.
She wants to be loved and made whole.
No matter where she goes He won't be far.
No matter how long it takes He's going to wait.
He loves her and He'll never leave his precious baby girl.
Twilight falls upon a barren field,
Streams trickle into the sea.
All mankind has a life to live,
But is it a destiny?
Does tomorrow change mankind?
Is the future like a sweet mystery,
An answer you can never find?
Laid out upon heavenly realms?
Where angels tread the starry sky,
Where the thoughts of long ago lay down to die.
Or is it part of a plan?
To affect the world beyond today,
To leave footprints in the sand.
To change this world and heaven.
For in another realm where spirits live,
The soul's sweet destiny sits.
When we look around us what do we see?
When we say we have faith in what do we believe?
Do we really understand the realm in which we live?
So we see what lies beyond our vision?
But someday we will see clearly.
When He comes and tears down walls,
To cast away all sin.
Will in future times become the definition of reality.
When principalities and heavenly realms,
Become the essence of what is real.
Blinds our eyes and what we see.
Our own wisdom makes us fools,
And what we confess as truth is our own insanity.
Why do we say we perceive?
For until we see the manifestation of God,
We will live in a dim reflection of eternity.
I sit by the window wondering where you are
Thinking to myself, “I hope he’s not far”
Dreaming in my dreams of things unseen
And praying in my heart that you’ll be here soon
I’m praying for you just the same
Because I know one day we’ll be face to face
Then we will embrace and never let go
And every tear of joy will be allowed to flow
Love always finds each other
That’s why you will find me
I’m waiting for you
So someday I can be your queen on her throne
Maybe we’ll never be rich or famous
But we will have love and that’s all that matters
Engulfs me somehow
Just thinking of you, and once we find each other
All the things we’ll do
Be here to love you weather I’m near or far
So when you smile upon a star
Remember, I’m with you
And that we will love each other until the end of time
Above all remember
Even though I don’t know your name
I’m praying for you just the same
Because I know
Someday you’ll be mine
As I think of you and how you died upon the cross
My mind is saddened at how so many people are lost
This world needs you and your love to be
Happy and at peace, alive and free
And I see more than anything your love for me
It wasn’t easy to did what you did
But you didn’t mind because you knew you died so we could live
We don’t have to except it
But without it we will be lost
How you were tortured and shamed,
Pierced crucified and bled to death for each of us
For the every person from royalty to the poor,
For my friends and for me
I know you didn’t want to die up there
But your love over came every fear
The world was changed and you will forever be
With us everywhere and in everything we do
That’s all it takes
Just to fall to your knees
And plea for forgiveness
We feel your presence and know you’re with us today
So we smile and know in our hearts
That you did it for us
So for an eternity we wouldn’t have to be
Separated from you
As I look into your blue eyes I see
The pain that has been there in the past
But now they glisten with brightness and hope
And I know when you smile you’re smiling back at me
I’m so glad I found you and you found me
Someone reached down and picked you up
Then mended and fixed you just for me
I just didn’t know it and was too blind to see
But now we’re together and forever will be
Because I know that I’ll always love you and you me
You’ll still be in my heart
And when the day comes that we must part
Just know that you’ll always be with me
Feeling alone without anyone
But now I know it was worth it
When I look at you and see
Those sparkling blue eyes of yours
Dancing with laughter and smiling back at me
What is this world?
It’s not the same as it used to be
It’s dark and dead and frightening
People are falling to the ground
Screaming out loud for someone or anyone
To find them so they might be found
Forget about the news, the screams outside, or your date
You can hear it now, clearly and loud
Another person just died, and no one cares
No one cares anymore
"No one cares", you can hear it being screamed everywhere
This is life, no one said it was easy or fair
Lying there helplessly and afraid
Then what will you say?
When you face God, will you suddenly remember to pray?
You’ll be standing there before heaven’s gate
Will you be let in?
That’s up to you
For you see, you bring your own fate down from heaven
Because when you stand before God you will be judged by what you do
Who cares about life
It’s old and boring
Dull and a fright
Sometimes it’s just not worth living
Feeling all alone
But remember, what will it be like when you stand before the throne?
