BACKGROUND
Richie was street kid who was taken in by Duncan
MacLeod after he broke into his antique shop and
witnessed a confrontation between he and two other
Immortals, Connor MacLeod and Slan Quince. It was
there that he worked as a clerk in their antique
shop. But it wasn't until in 1993 when Richie along
with Tessa, MacLeod's significant other, was shot
and killed during a chance mugging. MacLeod somehow
knew that Richie was to become an Immortal. For the
next year, Richie managed Duncan's dojo while
learning the rules of the game. He soon joined a
motorcycle racing team in Paris, but soon had to
leave when he "died" in a motorcycle accident. He
soon returned home to Duncan MacLeod until the
occurence of the " Dark Quickening" took hold of
Duncan MacLeod and made him turn on Richie and come
close to killing him. Feeling betrayed by his
mentor, Richie soon became a more active
participant in the game, taking the heads of
Immortals whenever he saw them, not caring that
some had no fight with him. One such Immortal was
Carter Wellan. Richie encoutered him in a bar and
picked a fight with him. The two went outside and
battled with Richie the winner. But, at the same
time, Wellan's age old friend Haresh Clay drove up
in enough time to see the battle and saw the death
of his friend. Richie then became the target of
Clay's wrath. Resting in his room, he was pinned in
by a surprise attack by Clay. But skillfully Richie
escaped. MacLeod then found Richie where he gives
Richie a new sword to replace the one Clay broke.
Richie then set out to get Clay, but MacLeod begged
him to allow him to do it to reek vengence for
something Clay did to him years ago. Richie does
and MacLeod and he began their friendship over
again. Now Richie was his own person and MacLeod's
true equal. But their friendship almost took
another pitfall when Richie met up with a man we
know only as The Messanger. Taking the name of
Methos, he tought peace rather than war. His idea
was that "The Game" did not have to be played out
and that all Immortals should lay down their
weapons. Richie believed this and began to spend
time with him. But when The Messanger was killed,
Richie met his killer and beheaded him. The hopes
of peace died with The Messanger, but Richie still
held on to the ideals. But not too soon after,
Richie's life came to a tragic end. Richie headed
toward a racetrack for some reason or another, and
was followed by Duncan Macleod after Richie had
called him up. While at the racetrack, MacLeod came
under some fit of illusion and was in a swringing
rage with his kitana and without warning, he came
down on Richie and beheaded his student, leaving
Duncan to grieve for his now fallen student.
Richie's life was short and ended the worst way
possible.
