The Mirror Barber Shop was located in the small copper mining town of Globe, Arizona in the mountains aproximately 80 miles East of Phoenix, Arizona. When the building was purchased, Paul moved the old barber shop things to a new location in Gilbert, Arizona (the fastest growing city in Arizona).
Paul Johnson owns a self styled 50's type barber shop with photos of the two U.S. Presidents during the 50's, photos of the 50's type haircuts, as well as old hair tonics and powders. In the background you can hear 50's music playing, taking you back to the Good 'ol days.
Photographs of Paul's wrecked 57 Fords and his models of 57 Fords tell you why this guy liked the 50's.
This is actually a very modern shop with an electric barber chair and a clipper vacuum system which allows for the cleanest hair cut possible. This is intertwined with his customers haircut requirements loaded into a database allowing precise hair cuts, time after time.
The shop is also complimented by 1910 cash registers, 1927 barber chairs, and 1920 clock and mirrors making a unique blend of modern, 50's, and antique. This is really a nice place to visit, and better yet, to get a haircut. Grandpa's bring their grand kids in to show them what a barbershop used to look like. The elderly customers slip back into the past when Paul shaves their neck, splashes some Bay Rum on their neck and tops off the scalp massage with some Lucky Tiger or Jerris hair tonic.
