"That was a great movie, wasn't it?" Karen Robinson said to her boyfriend, Isaac Hanson, as they exited the theater.
"Yeah," Isaac agreed. "I've wanted to see Star Wars for a long time."
"It was really sweet of you to --" Karen began, but then broke off and stared over Ike's shoulder. "Ike," she whispered, "do not turn around. There are about fifty fans over there staring at us. If they recognize you, we're in big trouble."
"Why would we be in big trouble if they recognize me?" Ike asked. "They do this all the time."
"Yes, but this time you have a girlfriend." They started walking to the door, only to be met by hundreds of screaming fans and reporters with cameras. "Too late! We're gonna have to make a run for it." Karen grabbed Ike's hand and took off.
Once they were in Ike's car and safely driving back to Karen's house, Ike said, "Maybe you shouldn't have done that. Now they know we're going out."
"Well, what did you think I would do? Run off on my own and leave you to face the fans and reporters? I don't think so!"
By this time they had arrived at Karen's house. "Good night, Karen."
"Bye, Ike."
The next morning, Ike got up and went downstairs, only to find his parents waiting for him. "What's the matter, Mom? Dad? Is something wr -- Oh, shoot!!!" This last was added as Walker held up the day's newspaper with a picture of Ike and Karen on the front page.
"What is this all about, Isaac? We warned you to be careful when you dated Karen!" Walker Hanson said.
"I'm sorry, Dad....it just happened...."
"What are we going to do now?"
"What's all the screaming about?" a sleepy voice asked. Isaac turned to see his sixteen-year-old brother Taylor coming into the room.
"Isaac was caught by the media with Karen last night."
"Way to go, Ike," Taylor groaned.
"It was *not* my fault, okay?" Isaac argued.
"Isaac, I'm afraid that the only way to solve this is to break up with Karen," Diana said gently.
Isaac stared at his mother in shock. But, as he thought about the situation, he realized that he didn't feel good about Karen anymore. She was almost too pushy around him anymore...as if she was only dating him for the fame. They'd only been together for a month. And somehow Isaac knew that he didn't like Karen anymore. Maybe it had been a blessing in disguise that the media had caught them.
"I'll go call Karen," Isaac relented, knowing somehow that this was right.
