Chapter 10

We arrived at the gate, only to see another guy. When he saw our guide, he smiled and opened the gate. We entered the world I had dreamed of entering for years. I looked around, not wanting to miss anything. Up ahead, I saw several other girls who were obviously the other lucky MOE cardholders. With them was yet another man, in the same uniform as the other two. Our guide went up and spoke to him. After a minute, our guide left us with the others.

The man with all the MOE winners said, "Okay, guys. In just a minute Hanson will arrive in that room right there." He pointed out a door that I had failed to notice before. "You guys will be let in three at a time to talk to the guys for about five minutes. If you get too wild, you will be removed." (Author's note: I have never been backstage at a Hanson concert before, so I don't know what it's like. Please don't e-mail me to complain that I got it wrong. This is my story, and I'm writing it how I choose to write it. Thank you.)

Michelle and I grinned at each other. There was no way on earth we would get too wild. We were not about to miss this opportunity, not with all we'd gone through to get here.

Just then, the man got an alert on his walkie-talkie. (No, it was not yellow...lol.) He was talking for only a minute, and I wasn't really paying attention to what he was saying. When he stopped talking, he smiled. "Well, guys, this is it. That was Ike telling me they'd be right down."

The other fans were surprisingly quiet for Hanson fans. They weren't screaming or anything. They were cheering a little and clapping, but not nearly as much as usual.

The man opened the door cautiously and went in for a minute. When he came out, he said, "Okay people, it's time. Will the first three fans in line please come in?" The first three people went in excitedly. There were twenty of us altogether, and Michelle and I were last in line. We would be going in by ourselves, since the number of lucky fans was not a multiple of three.

Thirty munutes later, the line in front of us had disappeared. All the other fans, except the last group, had gone in and come out. The last group was still in the room with Hanson. Just then, the door opened and the last group came out. It was our turn. I had never been so excited in my life; neither had I ever been as nervous as I was at that moment. We opened the door and stepped into the room.
