The General by Amelie Belcher
When I go to conventions, I always try to give Amelie her choice of which character to do. Amelie chose the evil general from Eguru this time out. He is the leader of a country named Wuchideboxue (I may change that; it's Chinese for "shameless exploitation.") When he seized power in a military coup, the country was a poor, pastoral land. He transformed it into an industrial machine by getting rid of all worker protection laws, all health and safety laws, and all environmental laws. Wuchideboxue was transformed into a manufacturing superpower, but at a terrible price. The environment of Wuchideboxue is rapidly deteriorating. Anyone who speaks out against the general's wishes are thrown into a forced labor camp, or shot dead. Most of the wealth that is being generated is going straight into the general's pockets. People are also indoctrinated to believe that his word is gospel and that he is a god among men. He gets involved because Cambria's online show is getting some play in his country, and he doesn't like it one bit. He has his men set out to try and stop her for good.
