The theme this time was 009-1. We have a first here: Nobody had ever heard of this 2006 anime before, although someone did note that 009-1 was a similar art style to Cyborg 009. 009-1 actually holds the record for longest time between the manga and the anime. The manga was released in 1966. The storyline concerns Mylene Hoffman, a cyborg spy in a world where the cold war did not end, and has been going on for 150 years.
Unfortunately, most of the artists at Ikkicon were women who wanted to do the bishi hunks and didn't really like doing women. :(
