Anime Matsuri 2014

Anime Matsuri was held at the George R. Brown convention center in Houston. This place is huge - it's about the size of an NFL football stadium. They also held a gun show on the other end of the convention center. Fortunately, no gun buyers wanted to harm anyone at the anime convention.The sushi program was quite enlightening - I never knew much of the sushi rice in the world was grown in California. I always thought it was from Louisiana and the Southeastern USA.

The theme this time was Nerima Dakion Brothers. My bank account is reeling a bit from Ikkicon still and I spent much of my time away from artist's alley. NDB is a crack anime created by the king of crack, Shinchiro Watanabe (a.k.a. Nabeshin.) Supposedly he created it while visiting an anime convention in the USA in 2001. He saw episodes of Inspector Gadget and Animaniacs on TV, and also went to a House of Blues on a Saturday night.
