Cap (N): Love on the set!
(Page 1, panel 1. The members of Young Justice ride through the explosion.)
Cap (N): Picking up where we left off, the members of Young Justice are about to rescue Teri Jewel Jackson and Cissie King-Jones.
(Panel 2. They continue towards the building.)
Empress: I don't think I'll ever get used to being intangible in this Supercycle.
Impulse: Took me awhile to get used to it too.
(Panel 3. They land the Supercycle.)
Robin: Split up gang, leave no place unturned.
Superboy: Finding Teri is mine!
(Panel 4. The members of Young Justice are greeted by gunfire from automatic rifles and machine guns.)
SFX: BLAM! BLAM! BLAM!
(Panel 5. Impulse rushes around, disarming the soldiers. Nearby, the bullets hitting Superboy are bouncing off is TK shield.)
Superboy: Nobody keeps me from Teri!
(Page 2, panel 1. Empress makes a diving kick onto several soldiers, knocking them down as they fire their weapons.)
SFX: POW!
(Panel 2. Superboy flies off, knocking down some soldiers on the way.)
Superboy: Teri! I'm comin' for ya!
(Panel 3. Wonder Girl bashes the heads of two guards together.)
Wonder Girl: This is nothing personal, mind you. I do this to everyone who holds a friend of mine.
(Panel 4. The team splits up, with Wonder Girl, Superboy and Secret going forward while the others go to the right.)
Robin: Get back to the Supercycle as soon as you find either of them! I'll stay here.
(Page 3, panel 1. Follow Superboy, who is flying down a hallway. Wonder Girl and Secret are behind him.)
Wonder Girl: SB! Wait up!
Superboy: If they've harmed one hair on her head I'm gonna tear them limb from limb!
(Panel 2. Some entering soldiers bog down Wonder Girl and Secret.)
Secret: He sure seems obsessed with her.
Wonder Girl: Love can do that to a guy.
(Panel 3. Impulse and Empress have made their way into a building and are going down a corridor.)
Impulse: I should be able to find them somewhere.
(Panel 4. Impulse comes to a locked room. Trying the door, it will not open.)
Impulse: Locked! Good thing I have another way around this...
(Panel 5. Impulse vibrates through the door.)
Impulse: Ohmigawd!
(Page 4, panel 1. Impulse enters a room where he sees Cissie shackled to a wall. She has several bruises on her, her clothing is torn, and she has a black eye. Standing opposite her is a soldier who is trying to take advantage of her.)
Impulse: LEAVE HER ALONE!
(Panel 2. Impulse makes a diving kick onto the soldier, knocking him down.)
SFX: WHAM!
(Panel 3. Standing, Impulse checks on Cissie.)
Impulse: Cis, how bad is it?
Cissie: Bart...
(Panel 4. Impulse vibrates one of the shackles, making it slip off her wrist.)
Impulse: Hold on, Cis. I'll have you out in a little here.
(Panel 5. Impulse vibrates the other shackle, causing it to become intangible. Cissie, meanwhile, has put an arm around Impulse to steady herself.)
Impulse: Do you think you can make it out?
Cissie: I think so...
(Panel 6. Cissie leans on Impulse as they walk to the door.)
Impulse: Hang on, I'm gonna vibrate us through...
(Page 5, panel 1. They go through the door to see Empress knock a soldier down with her staff.)
Impulse: I found Cissie! She's hurt!
(Panel 2. Empress goes over to Cissie and helps her, along with Impulse.)
Cissie: Thank... you...
Empress: Don't worry, mon. The worst part is over now.
(Panel 3. Superboy strikes a soldier in the jaw, sending him reeling. Anger is written all over Superboy's face.)
SFX: POW!
(Panel 4. Superboy picks the soldier up by his shirt, getting in the soldier's face.)
Superboy: Where is Teri Jewel Jackson!?
Soldier: (weakly) Die... American... scum...
(Panel 5. Superboy drops the soldier.)
Superboy: I'll find her myself then.
(Panel 6. Superboy flies down the hallway again.)
Superboy: The more that I wait, the angrier I get!
(Page 6, panel 1. Superboy comes to a door where two well-armed soldiers stand. They spot Superboy.)
Superboy: This must be the place.
Soldier: HALT! It is the American!
(Panel 2. The soldiers fire their weapons at Superboy, and the bullets bounce off his TK shield.)
Superboy: The more you keep me from her, the madder I get!
(Panel 3. Superboy rams the heads of the soldiers together. They stop firing their guns.)
SFX: WHAM!
(Panel 4. He then throws the soldiers across the room.)
SFX: KLUMP! KLUMP!
(Page 7, panel 1. Superboy breaks into the room, and sees Teri Jewel Jackson in the skimpy outfit she is wearing.)
Superboy: Teri! I've come for - WHOA-OH!
(Panel 2. Superboy stares wide-eyed at Teri Jewel.)
Teri: Superboy? Superboy!
Superboy: >Drool<...
(Panel 3. Teri Jewel shakes Superboy.)
Teri: SNAP OUT OF IT!
Superboy: Oh - uh... sorry.
(Panel 4. Superboy picks Teri up in his arms.)
Superboy: (1) Let me fly us out of here.
Superboy: (2) I must admit I've always wanted to sweep you off your feet here.
(Panel 5. Superboy takes off and flies, with Teri Jewel in his arms. She puts her arms around his neck.)
Teri: Let's save the love for when we're out of this mess, all right?
Superboy: Well...
(Page 8, panel 1. They go outside the room only to find themselves surrounded by several guards pointing automatic rifles at them.)
Soldier: Surrender now!
Superboy: (to Teri) Get behind me.
(Panel 2. Superboy surrounds himself and Teri with a TK shield.)
Teri: Cute.
Superboy: I hope you can defend yourself. I may need a hand or two on this one.
(Panel 3. Teri makes some fists.)
Teri: I've got your back.
Superboy: You don't know how long I've waited to hear you say that.
(Panel 4. The soldiers attack, firing their weapons and trying to strike Teri Jewel and Superboy. The bullets bounce off Sb's TK shield. Some of the soldiers go down, hurt.)
Teri: Can we wait on that until we get out of this mess?
Superboy: Sorry, I can't stop myself.
(Panel 5. Superboy is hit in the head with the butt of a soldier's rifle.)
SFX: WHAM
Superboy: AH
(Panel 6. The soldier points his rifle between Superboy's eyes. Superboy is now lying on the ground.)
Soldier: Not so high and mighty now, are we?
(Page 9, panel 1. Suddenly the soldier is electrocuted, and shows his shock. Panel 2. He falls down, showing Teri Jewel behind him.)
Superboy: Teri...?
(Panel 2. Heavy in heart, Teri Jewel gets close to Superboy.)
Teri: Sb, don't tell anyone I'm a metahuman. I'd loose my job for sure. I've tried hiding it ever since I was born....
(Panel 3. Superboy takes Teri Jewel's hands.)
Superboy: I promise, Teri. I would never do anything to hurt you.
Teri: Thank you.
Voice (From off panel): How very touching.
(Panel 4. The two of them turn to see the General standing there.)
General: Too bad she's staying with me.
Superboy: That's what you think.
(Panel 5.)
Superboy: The lady has made her choice, she doesn't love you.
General: I spent a lot of time and effort in kidnapping her, I'm not about to let all of that go to waste.
(Page 10, panel 1. The general opens a small box with a kryptonite crystal in it.)
General: Say goodbye, Superboy.
Superboy: Kryptonite!
Teri: (concerned) Superboy!
(Panel 2. The General aims a pistol at Superboy.)
General: Frankly, Superboy, there are hundreds of people would pay for your head on a platter. I'm always interested in making more money.
(Panel 3. Teri then unloads a bioelectric blast at the General, hitting him. The general is electrocuted.)
Teri: I think you'll find me quite shocking, General.
SFX: FZAPT!
General: AH!
(Panel 4. The general falls, and Teri closes the box with Kryptonite in it.)
Teri: Sb, are you all right?
Superboy: I'm... fine...
(Panel 5. Superboy stands up, smiling. Teri Jewel rolls her eyes.)
Superboy: How could I be anything but with you nearby?
Teri: You never stop with that, do you?
(Panel 6. Superboy picks up Teri Jewel in his arms again.)
Superboy: (1) All right, no more hitting on you until we're out of here.
Superboy: (2) Of course, I can't be held to that once we're out.
Teri: The sooner you get us out of here, the sooner you'll be able to hit on me again.
(Page 11, panel 1. Superboy flies with Teri Jewel in his arms.)
Superboy: Your wish is my command, darling.
(Panel 2. They continue to fly, and meet Wonder Girl, who is also flying.)
Wonder Girl: SB! You found her!
Superboy: Yea, now let's blow this pop stand!
(Panel 3. They fly out together. Panel 4. Go outside to see Robin at the controls of the Supercycle. He spots Impulse and Empress helping Cissie along from off panel.)
Robin: Impulse! Did you find them?
Impulse: Empress is coming soon with Cissie. She's pretty banged up. We couldn't find Teri, though.
(Panel 4. Enter Impulse and Empress, who are helping a limping Cissie along to the Supercycle.)
Empress: Come on, Cis. We're almost there.
Cissie: I can make it.
(Panel 5. Cissie and Empress sit down behind Robin. Impulse sits in the front.)
Robin: Now all we need are Wonder Girl, Secret, Superboy and Teri Jewel.
(Panel 6. Secret enters.)
Secret: Superboy and Wonder Girl are right behind me! They've got her!
Impulse: Kewl! Let's blow this place when they get here!
(Page 12, panel 1. Secret takes her spot on the Supercycle. Robin starts up the Supercycle.)
Robin: Let's meet them halfway.
(Panel 2. He heads towards the entering Superboy and Wonder Girl. Superboy is carrying Teri Jewel in his arms still.)
Robin: Come on in!
(Panel 3. Superboy sets Teri Jewel down as Wonder Girl takes her seat. However, this fills the Supercycle's back.)
Superboy: I'll fly by here.
(Panel 4. The Supercycle takes off as the soldiers enter, firing their weapons.)
SFX: BLAM! BLAM! BLAM!
(Panel 5. Follow the YJ members out.)
Teri: Man, I think I've had enough adventure to last a lifetime.
Superboy: Well, I'll be sure to keep you safe from now on.
(Panel 6. The others turn to Cissie, seeing her black eye and various wounds.)
Empress: We need some first aid for you, mon.
(Page 13, panel 1. A door opens in the side of the Supercycle, revealing a first aid kit.)
Impulse: Ask and you will receive...
(Panel 2. Impulse takes the first aid kit, and opens it.)
Impulse: Man, this new Genesis stuff looks complicated.
Empress: Leave it to me, I know first aid.
(Panel 3. Empress takes some materials out of the box.)
Cissie: You don't have to do this.
Empress: Don't worry, Cissie. I know what I'm doing.
(Panel 4. Empress points a green light at Cissie's black eye.)
Cissie: OW! That stings!
Empress: Better a little pain now than a lot later, mon.
(Panel 5. Cissie's black eye vanishes.)
Cissie: Hey... the pain is gone there.
Empress: We've got a lot to work on, so hold still, Cissie.
(Page 14, panel 1. Later, over the ocean, the YJ members are talking about things.)
Cap (N): Later, the physical scars have been healed, but the emotional ones do take time...
Teri: Gawd, it was horrible! They put me in this skimpy dress! I certainly wouldn't wear something this revealing normally.
(Panel 2. Wonder Girl flies up out of her seat.)
Wonder Girl: You look tired, SB. I'll fly around for awhile.
Superboy: You mean it?
(Panel 3. Superboy sits down next to Teri Jewel.)
Superboy: Well, I promise you that I wouldn't treat you like that... unless you really wanted it.
Teri: Sb...
(Panel 4. Teri rolls her eyes as Superboy puts an arm around her.)
Superboy: Well, now that we're out of danger, I think we can go back to the romance stuff...
Teri: Wait until we land, SB.
(Panel 5.)
Teri: (To Cissie) Is he always like this?
Cissie: Only to someone he's madly in love with.
(Panel 6. Teri smiles slightly.)
Teri: I'd like to get to know your a little more, though.
Superboy: Ask away, Teri.
(Page 15, panel 1. Hollywood. The Supercycle lands next to the studio, and our heroes exit the Supercycle.)
Cap (N): Some time later...
Superboy: There we go, all safe and sound.
Teri: I knew you would save me.
(Panel 2. Enter Javier Sanchez, and Traya.)
Traya: Cissie! Good to see you again!
Javier: Wow! It's Empress!
(Panel 3. The two parties approach each other.)
Cissie: Yea, I'm glad to be back here.
Empress: Oh mon...
(Panel 4. Javier approaches Empress, smiling a gentle smile and trying to win her over.)
Javier: I've always wanted to meet you. I'm a big fan of yours.
Empress: Uh... hi.
(Panel 5. Javier is somewhat confused.)
Javier: Where have I heard that voice before?
Empress: Maybe on the news...?
(Panel 6. Javier takes Empress' hand.)
Javier: I'd love to talk to you sometime.
Empress: Uh... sure.
(Page 16, panel 1.)
Javier: Let's find us a nice place to talk... Anita.
Empress: I can't keep a secret from you, can I?
(Panel 2. Empress removes her mask as Javier lets go of her hand.)
Javier: Not really. Don't worry, I won't tell anyone.
Empress: You'd better not.
(Panel 3. The two of them go off arm in arm.)
Traya: Well, the studio has decided to halt production for the week. You've basically got the rest of the week free.
Superboy: (To Teri) Well, that gives us some time alone for awhile. I'd really like to take you out tonight, TJ.
Teri: Well, all right.
(Panel 4. Teri and Superboy hold hands.)
Traya: Looks like Anita isn't the only one who's got it bad.
Impulse: He's got it very good if you ask me.
Cissie: (Coldly) Impulse...
(Page 17, panel 1. Later on, Superboy and Teri Jewel are walking to a limo. They have changed clothing. Teri Jewel is in a pleasant light blue blouse and denim miniskirt; Superboy is in a polo shirt and slacks.)
Cap (N): Later on, Superboy goes for his date with Teri Jewel Jackson...
Superboy: You look wonderful right now, TJ.
Teri: Thanks...
(Panel 2. Enter Javier and Empress, holding hands. Javier is in a pleasant shirt and slacks; Empress is wearing a nice blouse and pants.)
Teri: Looks like you two hit it off.
Javier: Anita's a wonderful young woman. We're going on a date tonight.
Superboy: So are we.
(Panel 3.)
Superboy: How about we make this a double date?
Javier: A double date? Are you sure?
(Panel 4.)
Superboy: Sure! The more, the merrier.
Javier: Well, what do you think, Anita?
Empress: Well, all right.
(Panel 5. All of them enter the limo.)
Javier: Anita's been telling me a lot about herself. So, are we going to Emil's again?
Teri: Sounds good to me.
Empress: Emil's?
(Page 18, Panel 1. The limo drives off, and they continue to converse.)
Teri: Emil's is an exclusive restaurant nearby. We should be there within the hour.
Superboy: Oh, so it's less than two miles away.
(Panel 2. Teri smiles.)
Teri: Ah, you're getting used to the traffic here.
Superboy: I doubt that's possible.
Javier: I've been here five years, and I'm not used to it yet...
(Panel 3.)
Superboy: Oh really? Where are you originally from?
Javier: East St. Louis, Ill. Traffic in St. Louis was never this bad. Then again, nobody around here seems to walk anywhere.
Teri: That's the truth.
(Panel 4.)
Empress: I think it's pretty ironic that all of us have been admiring each other privately before we met.
Superboy: Perhaps... but then again, it was more than worth the wait.
(Page 19, panel 1. Later on, they arrive at the restaurant. Superboy and Teri Jewel are walking arm in arm. Behind them, Javier and Anita are walking arm in arm. The place is a lavishly decorated affair, with a Baroque style.)
Cap (N): And about an hour later...
Teri: This is so exciting. I can't believe I'm on a date with Superboy!
Superboy: I can't believe I'm on a date with you either, TJ.
(Panel 2. Several paparazzi ambush our foursome, and start taking pictures.)
Superboy: I guess I should have expected this.
Teri: That's what happens when you're famous, SB.
(Panel 3. The foursome starts to enter the restaurant, still mobbed by the paparazzi, which are taking photos.)
Empress: I think I've had my photo taken more in the last 5 minutes than I have in the last 5 weeks.
Javier: Just wait until you see what the tabloids have to say about us.
(Page 20, panel 1. The four of them are now sitting at the table, having pleasant conversation.)
Superboy: So the third kid said: "I know I'm not handicapped, but when my father finds out that I saved your life, Mr. President, I will be."
(Panel 2. The others laugh or smile.)
Teri: >Giggle.<
Javier: Ha ha ha! That's a good one.
(Panel 3. Javier notices Empress isn't laughing.)
Javier: Anita, why aren't you laughing?
Empress (embarrassed): Well, my laugh is kinda embarrassing.
(Panel 4. Javier puts an arm around Empress.)
Javier: Hey, don't worry about it, Anita. It's what's inside you that counts.
Voice (From off panel): Hey, keep your grubby meathooks off of her!
(Page 21, panel 1. Lobo is standing there, dressed as he usually is. He is wielding his hook and chain.)
Lobo: 'Cause nobody messes with the top teen's girl!
