Paul Cain's Message in Kansas City Municipal Auditorium

Thank you, brother Mike. It is good to be with you again tonight. We know that there are some awesome days ahead of us. The rapidity, the swift way, in which these things are coming down - it boggles one's mind. Its just unbelievable. I had a call from one of the leaders in London England, and he asked my opinion about the times. He said, "Is this the end?" He said, "Tell me do you believe this the end?" I said, "Well it is certainly the beginning of the end, and how we need to pray for enough time to see revival. The Lord said he is going to do a fast work."

I want to read a couple of scriptures and quote some others, but I'd like to read a couple of them that the Lord really impressed upon me. This has become something I have tried to live by ever since it was indelibly imprinted upon my heart. It is found in St. John 5:44.

I've been thinking about a lot of western thoughts today, and this reminds me I'm packing my old 5:44. Remember that expression, .44? The President made an expression I may pick up on a little bit later that had to do with the Old West.

I tell you this is something that we should put in our shoulder holster, or in our heart, and carry it with us everywhere we go. It is about the honor of God, and here it is, John 5:44. "How can you believe, who receive honor from one another and do not seek the honor that comes from the only God?" Of course if you have the NIV it reads a little different, and other versions may read quite a bit different.

We must never be guilty of wanting the approval of man over the approval of God, the honor of God. God will get his glory. I was thinking how important it is for us to glorify God and honor God. We honor God by doing what makes God feel good. Worship makes God feel good. He doesn't need it. He doesn't have a psychological handicap. He's not insecure. He loves the worship because he knows what it will do for us. Its for us more than anything else. He doesn't need your tithes, your offerings, but you need to give them because its more for you than it is for Him. Because he said he'd give to you shake down, pressed down, good measure, running over, whatever. He said also about praises, "I inhabit the praises of my people."

So you see we get the benefit of it all. But let's start honoring God every day, every minute of our lives, because its his honor. I was thinking of some of the things that I could do during this crisis with the background that we've experienced in the past few years with certain leaders in the world, and what honor might come from that. And it totally disgusted me. But I began to think of John 5:44, because it's the honor of God we are after. If it seems like you're standing alone, and you look like a fool, and you look like you are an imbecile, you don't know what you are talking about, and you're just so foolish to the world, and to the wise (the so-called wise) of the world, you have to be willing to stand and say, "I don't care what they say. I don't care what they think. I don't want their honor. I want the honor that only God can give." To the only true God may we give honor tonight, amen?

Let's continue to do that. That certainly isn't worthy of that kind of response. It should have been better, but the Lord will forgive you. [laughter] Don't let that happen again. [laughter, cheering] I'm using some .that's right . Oh . okay . [cheers continue and fade] I forgot what you Kansas City conference people are really like.

Matthew 24:22, "and unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved." That's what we mean by the beginning of the end. We are truly living in the end times. So much has happened so rapidly and so swiftly. We are truly seeing signs of the end times, but for the elect's sake, those days will be shortened. Do you know? The good news is that revival will come. Stadiums will be filled. God will heal the sick, and God will raise the dead. God is going to have to protect some of his people. Some of his people are going to have to be willing just to be ready to go. Whether they are taken by germ warfare, or anthrax, or our water systems are polluted or filled with deadly bacteria. We're gonna have to be ready, prayed up, and ready to go. Maybe the Lord would choose to take someone like that. But take no chances. I wouldn't want to be sitting in front of a stupid television program or in a crazy movie house watching a worldly presentation or a movie taking the Lord's name in vain and dishonoring God the way they do, for anything in the world.

Now I'm preaching a little bit of a (what do you call it?) uh, I guess you'd say negative (or holiness, I'd call it). Most people call it "legalism." Well, its about time we do something legal. Let's do our best to shun all the evil we can. There is a heaven to gain and a hell to shun. I want to get back to that preaching.

I was thinking for the last number of weeks how I started out as an evangelist. People began to be healed, and then I became known as a healing evangelist. I got drafted into a movement called, "The Voice of Healing" and the healing revival, and so on. My true calling is that of evangelism. I want you not to forget about the prophetic, because it is a great tool to use in evangelism. But let's get the winning of souls back on our agenda. Let's start having a burden for souls.

One time in a certain country, we were together with John Wimber. It was a pastor's conference. There were maybe over 5000 pastors registered for that conference (or Christian leaders). I remember the days when I was preaching the gospel, and had that fiery evangelism locked up in me. I would preach and so many people would be saved in those days. Even the Baptists would have me preach for them, and some of the Methodists, before the charismata (the charismatic thing) was started. Because I could win souls. You know, I believe honesty is synonymous with humility. I'm telling you the truth. I could win souls. I got away from that, and just started praying for the sick and preaching to the church. We think in these meetings that most everybody is a Christian, but that is not so. There are people here tonight who need God. You've brought maybe a loved one, maybe a friend, and they don't know the Lord. We ought to give an opportunity in every meeting for that to happen.

Anyway in this meeting overseas, I forgot it was a pastor's conference. And all of a sudden I slipped in to that evangelistic mode and began to talk about the cross. I began to talk about repentance, and began to talk about getting born again, and how to be born again. I said, "How many in this audience tonight can tell me the day and the hour, or at least the approximate time where you came in contact with your Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and you know beyond any shadow of a doubt that you were converted and if you died, you'd go straight to heaven? How many of you cannot say that if you died this moment that you would go to heaven? And you cannot remember an incident or a time or a place where you received him as your personal Savior. I want you to get up and come down these aisles."

Two hundred and sixty preachers and Christian leaders came. John Wimber almost fell off his chair. He couldn't imagine what was going on. This was a pastor's conference, and so on. These happen to be professional pastors that had, probably grandma or their parents had sent them to seminary for nothing less than a vocation, and all of that. We need preachers today who are called of God. We don't need just seminary people. We need some people who have gone through the preliminaries. We need people who really have come to know the Lord in a living way. So I'm getting back to the saw dust trail. I'm getting back to the old time, old gospel preaching, and try to win as many souls as I can, no matter what the cost.

So if the Lord is going to do this fast work, Peter said, "See these things, how these terrible events are about to come to pass. What manner of people ought we to be?" We can't afford to be lukewarm. The Lord said he would spit us out of his mouth if we are neither cold nor hot. So make up your mind whether you want to go into a deep freeze or whether you want to get on fire for God and win the lost. For me, I want to go until my last heart beat, and win souls for the Lord, no matter where it is. I seldom ever witness to anybody when I sit with them on the plane. It might be a really good time to witness to people sitting with them on the plane.

We must be very, very careful. It is not a joke. I am just telling you, we have got to treat our Arab brothers and sisters right. Just because they are Arabs . there is a big community of wonderful Arab people right here in the Kansas City area. Shame on any Christian that would ever mistreat one of those people. You can't afford to do that. Those days are over.

Isaiah 59:14 - I don't want to take too much of the time because Cindy is going to bring a message after a while. I want to get through this as fast as I can, but I feel like if I don't say these things that the Lord won't let me have a good night's rest. I need a good night's rest. I've been getting to bed at three and four o'clock in the morning and having breakfast at three o'clock in the afternoon. So please let me get this off my heart, and the Lord will bless me tonight.

Isaiah 59:14 "and judgement is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off. For truth is fallen in the streets. And equity cannot enter."

I tell you there is no uniform equality, no uniform equity, in the church today. Black people will never (and other minority groups will never) have perfect equality without Christianity, true Christianity, and the Lord Jesus Christ becoming the Lord of our lives. No equality will ever exist. No matter what you do, no matter how many Martin Luther Kings are born, no matter how many reformers come forth, it will never happen until we have our Lord Jesus, the majestic Christ, the sinless spotless son of God emulating and radiating in our lives, we will show everyone equal justice and equality.

There are so many things that I would like to go and tell different places of leadership in our nation. But justice standeth afar off, and cannot enter. It is not allowed to enter. But that day is changing. Have you seen the new change in America in the past few days since September the 11th, on that dreadful morning. God has caused people to turn toward him. What we need now is for God to do something for the people to turn to him.

Something even more devastating is coming. I don't want to frighten anybody. Well, yes I do. I want to. I want to frighten myself. I want to frighten you and tell you that something more, more evil and something more horrible is headed our way. We are going to have to be so full of God and so full of the Holy Ghost that we can withstand all of these onslaughts of the devil. You could kill every terrorist in the world, and still that devil would still be living to raise up new terrorists. There would be even more coming after us. So don't ever forget that. Don't think we can just kill the existing terrorists and their movement, because other movements will rise up. They have the inspiration for it.

Isaiah 59:15 and 19 "Yea truth faileth. And he that departeth from evil maketh himself a praise. And the Lord saw it and it displeased him that there was no judgement."

Listen, my friend, Mike Bickle said something last night that cause me to shiver. I could not help but feel the tremendous truth and impact of what he said. When we pray, no matter what we pray about, God answers our prayer sometimes different than we expect. Sometimes he sends judgement. We think we prayed for mercy. We think we prayed for one thing. But even judgement sometimes is the mercy of God to bring, especially America, to her knees.

Because America is so arrogant. America is so proud: America the beautiful. I'm as patriotic as anybody else here. I love the flag. I love "God bless America." I love the national anthem. I don't remember all the words. But I love them; I love it. I've been so many places I get it mixed up with what they do over in England sometimes.

Anyway, I love America, but I love God more than I have ever loved him in my life. I want to please him just like in John 5:44. Think about it. The Lord saw this, ". and it displeased him that there was no judgement. He saw that there was no man and wondered that there was no intercessor." How much God appreciates IHOP and international houses of prayer - day and night, night and day prayer. Because that means we have intercession. God was so displeased when there was no judgement and wondered that there was no intercessor. "Therefore his arm brought salvation unto him, and his righteousness it sustained him. For he put on righteousness as a breastplate and an helmet ." (Now this is the kind of equipment we need for war. If we are going to battle, this is what we need that will win the battle. Its not our tanks. Its not our big guns. Its only the weapons that God has made available for us. "For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but they are mighty for the tearing down, the bringing down of strongholds." And a war will be won by this kind of thing.) The breastplate, "righteousness as a breastplate and an helmet of salvation upon his head. He put on garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloak." (This sounds like the equipping of the saints.) "According to their deeds, accordingly will repay fury to his adversaries, recompense to his enemies to the islands he will repay recompense. So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west." (How unusual.) "So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun when the enemy shall come in like a flood, the spirit of the Lord will raise up a standard."

Mark 8:18 "Having eyes, they see not. Having ears they hear not and do not remember."

There has been warning after warning - prophetic utterance, one after another. Do you realize how many of these warnings actually reach the state department, and the FBI? I read some documents that were forwarded to the FBI only the other day that outlined some of the catastrophic things that are about to take place. It happened to be from a prophet that has been so accurate about other things, that the state department, the CIA, and the other agencies are no longer rivals. They are no longer in competition with the other. They don't care who gets the facts, just so they get the facts. They don't care who gets the job done, just so it gets done.

That's how the church ought to be. We don't care who does the preaching, just so the preaching gets the job done. Amen. But here we have had a whole series of administrations that have ears, but they could not hear what had to be said, or what was said. They could not see what needed to be seen.

I am just predicting something tonight, that if God hears prayers, who knows what the Lord will do in situations like this. I'm not gonna be the least disappointed in God if he turns this whole thing around. I promise I will not be like Jonah. I will not get mad at God for not destroying a nation after I prophesied it will be destroyed. That's what Jonah did. I'm not gonna crawl under, (I don't know if he crawled under anything or not. I think something grew up and covered him.) how does that story go? Anyway, he was sour as a gourd. And here he was, mad at God because God didn't do like he thought He would do once he got out of the belly of the whale and preached, and God saved Nineveh. I'm telling you I don't want to be like Jonah, do you? I want to preach what God gives me, and then if the people repent, and what I predicted as judgement doesn't come to pass, we'll just say, "Thank God." We have to honor God anyway. John 5:44 still applies. Amen.

There are some very serious, (not possibilities), but there are definitely things set in motion at this very hour. It could be in two weeks. It could be in a month. It could be maybe little longer period of time. It depends on how we can ward this off. It depends a lot on sending troops into Afghanistan. It depends on how we treat this situation. If it is treated right, then God will hold the judgement back. If its treated wrong, God would allow judgement to come to America. But I don't want you to live in fear. If our lives are in alignment with the word of God, and we're living in obedience to the conviction of the Holy Spirit, and to the Word, we need not fear pestilence, nor plague, nor germ warfare, or even nuclear warfare. The bottom line is, it will get worse. We will have all of these things sooner or later. Probably sooner rather than later.

Through prayer God can intervene and God can hold it back. We hear that little song, "Just a little longer, please Jesus." I never did like that song too well, but I'm beginning to think, even though it is kind of country-western, it just may be what the West needs. Just a little longer, please Jesus. We need time. We need to buy time. Dr. Jack Deere, (I call him Dr. Jack. It doesn't sound right to say, Dr. Mike, does it? He's beyond that. He's so humble. He's so humble he has to pray for pride, and the Lord hasn't answered that prayer yet, either. Thank God. Most men who pray that prayer have marvelous answers to their prayer. But Mike has not prayed that, has not., well, anyway. Forget it. Just a little bit of humanity, that's all.)

But let me tell you something. There are things that are so frightening that men's hearts will fail them. Do you realize? I'm surprised that more heart failure was not experienced when those three airliners crashed into those buildings. Do you know that that is one of the most frightening and probably most unprecedented act of terror that America has seen on television or at any time in history? Still, we are seeing so many movies, we play so many war games, our children could not even be affected by that. It looked like something we've already seen, just a replay of something. Do we grasp the seriousness of this? Do we grasp that it is not just four or five thousand lives that are lost and billions of dollars that are at stake? It is the fact that God's judgement was not held back.

Now we are coming together. We are coming toward God. The Lord said that won't do. God wants you to come to him. As I said last night, there is a great difference between toward and to. The nation is a little bit inclined to turn toward God, but not ready, not quite ready to turn to God. We must turn to him. That is probably the most important thing that I could repeat, or the most important thing that I could say tonight.

The bottom line is that things are going to get worse. We shouldn't fear even limited nuclear exchange. We should not fear any of these things. But when the President today, when he said what he did and made the comparison about the old west and about the posters they used to put up on the sides of buildings that would announce a criminal or a murderer. It would say, "Wanted, dead or alive." How many of you saw that and heard that today? The President said that. He said that's what he's after, the head of the main suspect. He's wanted, dead or alive. So, I was reminded, several years ago, when I had a vision of something that was like the old west. Some of you are old enough to remember the old western movies, the black and white movies, where they had the cattle herd and all that. Then cattle would drink from the same water tank and would contract anthrax and would die. How many of you ever saw a scene like that? There would be just cattle strewn all about. These dead cattle all swollen up because of the anthrax. I saw a vision and had a dream about that sort of thing. Only they were not cattle, they were people. They were all around these water tanks. They were lying dead from anthrax. Later it was known that some of the countries that we may be fighting against and may be coming against us have not only the capabilities, but they have all of this in place. They have not used it, but it could very well be employed.

So that's not to frighten you. Oh, yes it is too, I forgot. There I go again, I'm still a little coward. I'm going to read John 5:44. I got all that out of me.

We must realize that these things are imminent. But before these things take their whole effectiveness, they can be stopped with prayer and revival. If we turn to God and not just toward God, and we seek him with all of our face, then revival will come as sure as the world.

You know, I'm not supposed to talk about my visits to Iraq, and I've been to other Muslim countries. We've had a lot of dialog and countless hours spent with some of the leaders there. I'm not saying one word about how I got there. That would be self-serving, and I don't feel that the Lord would be pleased with that. I'm just telling you that I'm not just speaking at random. I'm not just speaking without any knowledge at all in the natural. I'm not apologizing for that. We need to know the times both in the natural and in the spirit. We need to know the times like the sons of Issachar.

But I'm telling you that we must come to a place to where we can trust God to take care of us no matter what happens. All I'm saying is its time to return to the foot of the cross. Its time to pick up our cross. Its time to focus in on the word of God and return to basics and be filled with the spirit. And march forth with flying colors. We need God on our side more than any other time. We need the favor of God more than any other time in history. We need to march as an army with might and great banners. We need to scare Satan out of Satan. It is only Satan who has raised up these armies that hate America and all of the psychotic insanity. Even though some are brilliant and some are intelligent, there is such insanity mixed with it that they would like to wipe America off the face of the earth, thinking that we're the demons, we're the devils, we're Satan.

But our God is about to show himself real to us if we'll return to him. If we'll return to him. Not just take a look now and then. Not just honor him in this or that. But honor him in everything, in all our ways. And when all our ways please God then he will make even our enemies to be at peace with us.

Let's stop being the know-it-alls. Let's stop being the bullies. Let's stop being the police state. Let's start being humble Americans who have made mistakes and will apologize for them. And say, "Let's reason together." And say, "Let's not do anything without our brains being engaged." I'm not saying America is all redneck, but we've had some redneck statements made (and rightly so, I guess) because we are so angry. But this will not work.

What we need is the humility. And that has power. We need the confidence that comes only from honoring God. And that has power against our enemies and against every foe. If we start honoring God, God will honor us so fast. He will come so quickly. He will do so much to bring down all of these things. And keep the pestilence away and keep the anthrax away. And keep the germ warfare and the biological, chemical war - he will hold it back. He will hold it back. We're gonna have a limited amount of it just to show us how great our God is, and how great his judgement could be. But God will intervene if he finds some more people than the people that are gathered in this arena tonight. He will come through for us. It doesn't take that many - even two agreeing together.

It doesn't say, "if any two," it says, "if two." And that means a special two. That means two people that are not angry with each other, don't have any rivalry in their heart, don't have competition in their heart, don't have anything against the other, and they agree together, two people could stop this thing. But we need two to agree.

We need three or more gathered in his name for him to be in their midst also. But it takes two in total agreement, totally honoring God, totally pleasing God. And you get these two people together and they can agree, it can stop wars. It can stop famines. It can stop pestilence. It can stop anthrax from working. It can stop all the bombs. It can stop all the acts of terrorism.

You know, I am really not afraid to fly. I never thought I'd never be able to make that statement. Its such an insult to God to say I'm afraid to fly, I'm afraid to get up there. That's like saying as long as I'm down here, you can't touch me, and nothing can happen to me. I want you to know that a lot can happen to you while you are right down here. So I'm going to start flying just as soon as possible just to prove that I feel the safety and protection of God.

"Heavenly Father, I pray your protection upon everyone here. I pray that something will come across this place, and sweep through this place, and that will conquer us, overwhelm us, and come upon us. You shall receive power after the Holy Ghost is come upon you. Let the Holy Ghost come upon every one of us tonight. Let us be in one accord in this place and suddenly there will come from heaven a sound as of a mighty rushing wind. I pray Lord that even cloven tongues of fire will come back in style. That the glory of the latter rain will be greater than at any other time. That the glory of the latter house will be greater than that of the former.

"That every person of any religion that does not honor you the way that St. John 5:44 speaks of, I pray, Lord, that there will be such glory and such an anointing upon your people when we leave this place tonight that every person we meet of another persuasion or another religion will be drawn to the power and presence, and the kindness, and the sweetness, and the love, and the joy, and the peace, and the longsuffering, and the gentleness, and the goodness, and the meekness, and the temperance. Against such there is no law. They will see all of that in us.

"They will fall on their face and worship God as the secrets of their hearts are made manifest through the prophetic ministry. They will fall on their face and worship God and report that God is in us of a truth. That will stop this thing long enough for us to fill the stadiums with revival, with dead-raising power, with power to see people come to the Lord by the millions. In Jesus' name I pray this prayer will be heard."

Let's stand and cry out to God with our own utterances with our own prayers. And let him come and fill us with his Holy Spirit tonight. God bless you.
