SAMUEL ALLEN BAKER, 94, died on Feb. 7, 2006 in
Dallas, TX.
He was born August 12, 1911 in Honey Grove, TX, to
Samuel Bennett Baker and Lillie Allen. He and his
parents moved to Ranger, TX, in 1920. He graduated
from Ranger High School in 1930 and moved to Dallas,
TX. He served as the Credit Manager for Wilkinson
Brothers Electronics from 1930 until he established
his own business, CTS of Texas in 1969. He attended
Draughan's Business School in Dallas in 1933. Allen
served as an Elder at Pleasant Grove Church of Christ
from 1955 until 1967. After selling his business, he
retired to Mexia, TX at the age of 70 in 1981.
At the time of his death, including his wife of over
thirty-eight years, Tommye Pitts Baker, he is survived
by one daughter, Paula Baker Stephens; sons, George
Baker, James Baker, Jerry Baker, nephew, James Kelly;
six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one
Goddaughter, Deborah Wright. Baker was preceded in
death by the mother of his four children, Pauline
Head Baker (RHS-1929), his brother Vaughan Baker &
his sister, Mabel Baker Kelly.
