C.W. “Red” was born on Aug. 20, 1918 to Newton
Christopher Crawley & Mattie Bertie Kinman Crawley
on a farm in Eastland County, TX. He grew up working
the farm until his graduation from Ranger High School
in 1935 at Ranger, TX. He majored in mechanical
engineering & business at John Tarleton Agriculture
College, part of the Texas A&M system. After graduation
he married Pauline Moore, who was his love for 72
years of marriage. He worked with WalkerSmith

near family. He consulted with ADM for a time after
retirement. He maintained friendships from high
school & from Purina as a member of the Ole’ Timers.
Covis and Pauline were very active in Meadowbrook
Methodist Church-God, family and friends were their
priorities. He was a volunteer in the Computer Users
Group at TCC Senior Education Department and served
on the Senior Advisory Board of the SE Campus of Fort
Worth. He felt he should “never pass up the opportunity
to help a person today do better than he did yesterday.”
His smile, laughter, guidance, wisdom and love will be
greatly missed by all of his family and friends.
