CECIL I. COOK, 82, died Dec. 9, 2000, with burial in
Mt. Marion Cemetery in Strawn, TX.
Mr. Cook was born in Palo Pinto County to William
John & Mertie Mayhar Cook. He attended Ranger High
School in the Class of 1936 at Ranger, TX & married
Eddie Marie Wimberley in Strawn. He served in the
36th Division during WWII in the U.S. Army. He worked
as a machinist in Breckenridge, & then for General
Dynamic & Bell Helicopter. He also worked as Constable
for Eastland County. He was a member of the Church
of God.
Survivors at the time of his death, include his wife,
Eddie Marie Cook of Ranger; a son, Cecil Edward Cook
of Ft. Worth; two daughters, Kathryn Lucky of Ranger
and Gayle Moore of Ft. Worth; a brother, Bryant Cook
(RHS-1941) of Abilene; a sister, Genelle Goins of
Abilene; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren;
and several nieces and nephews.
DAUGHTER: KATHRYN COOK LUCKY, 75 of Ranger,
TX went to be with the Lord on Dec. 28, 2022.
Kathryn was born Dec. 31, 1946 to Eddie Marie Wimberley
Cook & Cecil Ivan Cook (RHS-1936) in Ranger, TX. She
was a member of the Church of God Ranger. She loved
to visit with people, listen to country music, and
ride around.
Survivors are daughters, Edith Marie Dunn and husband
Scott of Eastland and Samantha Gayle Stewart & husband
Tim of Ranger; sister, Gayle Moore of Fort Worth; grand-
kids, Kati Stewart, Dustin Stewart, Keema Harmon, Quana
Revis, Michael Dunn, and Shandi Dunn; 15 great-grand-
children, numerous nieces and nephews; and special
friends, Vickie Roberts and Nicki Beggs Gilbert of
Ranger Care Center and Darla McDonald.
She is proceeded in death by parents, Eddie Marie and
Cecil Cook and brother, Cecil Edward Cook.
