HAZEL BARKER HARRIS, 82, died April 9,
2000, at Lubbock, TX, with burial there at
Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park.
She was born on Oct. 19, 1917, in El Paso to
Jessie Lee Coffman & Robert Edgar Barker. She
grew up in Ranger graduating from Ranger High
School in 1936 at Ranger, TX. She graduated
from Baylor School of Nursing in 1943 & became
a registered nurse at Baylor Hospital. She
married Joseph T. Harris (RHS-1935) in July of
1945, in Ranger. He died in 1996.
Mrs. Harris lived in Lubbock since 1951 and was
a member of Trinity Church there since 1972.
Survivors at the time of her death, included two
sons, John of Friendswood and Walter of Grand
Prairie, two daughters, Betty Moffitt of Dallas
& Donna Bellamy of Lubbock, two sisters, Catherine
Allison (RHS-1933) of Sweetwater and Elizabeth Ball
(RHS-1942) of Arlington, 11 grandchildren & six
great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death was a sister, Clara Barker
Singleton (RHS-1930) and three brothers, Edgar
(RHS-1930), Gates (RHS-1937) and Robert Lee (RHS-
1944).
