EARVIN E. "PUG" IVY was born Dec. 3, 1918 in De Leon,
TX, one of seven children born to Richard Ivy and
Elizabeth Vinson Ivy. All seven, Earvin (RHS-1936),
Earl Ivy (RHS-1932), Bob Ivy, Odell Ivy, Clyde Ivy
(RHS-1944), Anna Mae Ivy Eagan & Nellie Ivy Woods
are deceased. Earvin died May of 1994 after a brief
illness. He was a member of the Ranger High School
Class of 1936 at Ranger, TX.
He is survived by his wife, Lillian, a son & daughter,
5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. All attended
Ranger schools.
He was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC),
1936-1940. Trained I Company, 142nd Infantry, 36th
Division in Camp Bowie, TX, 1940, & served with the 36th
Division in North Africa and Italy and the 65th Division
in France and Germany. He was a POW in Eferding, Austria,
in 1945. He was discharged as a SSGT in 1945 & received
the Combat Infantry Badge, Bronze Star E.T. with 4 Battle
Stars.
He lived from 1946 to 1994 in Lovington and Farmington,
NM, where he worked 19 years for Skelly Oil Company and
10 years for Aztec Oil and Gas. During his retirement,
he restored and enjoyed numerous antique cars & trucks.
