CHARLIE C. ROSE, 81, died on Sept. 21, 1999, in
Fort Worth, TX, with interment at Merriman Cemetery
near Ranger, TX.
Mr. Rose was born in the Colony Community on Oct. 15,
1917, to Bessie May Hise and James Claud Rose and
was raised in the Crossroad Community. He attended
Ranger High School and attended Ranger College for
two years. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
He married Audrey Faye Bush (RHS-1940) in 1939 in
Ranger. He was self-employed as a carpenter and
as a cabinetmaker in the Eastland area for many
years.
He was a member of the Rotary Club and the Ranger
Jaycees. He was a member of the Second Baptist
Church in Ranger.
Survivors at the time of his death include his wife;
a daughter, Charlotte Ashcraft (RHS-1958) of Fort
Worth; a brother, Odell Rose (RHS-1933) of Odessa;
a sister, Velma Rose Walker (RHS-1948) of Eastland;
two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He
was preceded in death by brothers, Harlan Rose (RHS-
1933), D.V. "Red" Rose (RHS-1934), John Rose (RHS-
1938), and Doug Rose (RHS-1939).
