MARIE RAMSEY MAHAFFEY, 84, of Ranger, TX passed away
on Sept. 24, 2004, with burial was at Evergreen Cemetery
in Ranger.

Mrs. Mahaffey was born on May 16, 1920 in Timpson, TX, to
Grady & Florence (Kyle) Ramsey.  She attended school in 
Ranger & obtained a bachelors degree in education from 
McMurry University in Abilene & later a masters in education
from Abilene Christian University. She married Charles Richard
Mahaffey in June of 1946 in Ranger. She worked as a teacher
for 35 years in Eastland County including Young School in 
Ranger before retiring in 1984. She was a member of Delta 
Kappa Gamma, Ranger Garden Club, Ranger Exes Association, 
and United Methodist Women. She was a longtime member of 
the 1st United Methodist Church in Ranger. 

Survivors at the time of her death include husband Charles 
Mahaffey of Ranger, children David Mahaffey (RHS-1966) & wife 
Danna of Big Spring, Randall Mahaffey (RHS-1968) & wife Suellen 
of Abilene, & Cheryl Taylor of Justin, sister & brother-in- law 
Opal Ramsey (RHS-1939) & Rudolph Little, brothers-in-law Ernest
W. Mahaffey of Abilene & Dale E. Mahaffey of Casa Grande, AZ, 
sisters-in-law Vanetta Rhodes of Eastland & Joyce Bennett of 
Weatherford, grandchildren Kim & Kyle Taylor of Stephenville,
Kristin Ramirez of Fort Worth, & Lindsey & Lauren Mahaffey of
San Angelo, & numerous nieces & nephews.  She was preceded in
death by her parents & a sister Mary Ramsey Anderson (RHS-1934).


HUSBAND: CHARLES MAHAFFEY, 85, passed away Jan. 20, 2008,
with burial was in Evergreen Cemetery in Ranger, TX. 

Charles was born on July 16, 1922, to Hugh and Clara (Goss) 
Mahaffey. He married his wife Marie in June of 1946, in Ranger. 
He worked as a rural mail carrier in Ranger for about 35 years 
& was a member of the National Rural Letter Carriers Association. 
He was also a lifetime member of the DAV.

He is preceded in death by his wife in 2004. 

He is survived by his children: David Mahaffey and wife, Danna 
of San Angelo, Randall Mahaffey and wife, Suellen of Garland, 
and Cheryl Taylor (RHS-1969) of Aubrey; two brothers, Dale and 
Ernest Mahaffey; two sisters, Vaneta Rhodes, and Joyce Bennett; 
and grandchildren, Kim & Kyle Taylor, Kristin Mahaffey, Lindsey 
and Laura Mahaffey; and a sister and brother-in-law, Rudolph and 
Opal Little.
