CLEO PERRIN TARVER, 79, of Abilene and formerly of
Ranger, died Nov. 30, 1999, with burial at Evergreen
Cemetery in Ranger, TX.
Mrs. Tarver was born on October 15, 1920 in Anson, TX,
to Burton and Maudie (Sparks) Perrin (died in 1984).
She grew up in Ranger and was a graduate of Ranger High
School in 1937. After graduation, she married Marvin J.
Tarver in Clyde, TX. They moved all over Texas managing
apartments & hotels. She was also a merchandise manager
for women’s apparel in department stores in Abilene. She
was a member of the First Baptist Church
in Ranger.
She was preceded in death by a brother, William Thomas
Perrin (RHS-1944) who died in 1997.
Survivors at the time of her death are her husband,
Marvin J. Tarver of Abilene; two brothers & their wives,
Billy Jack (RHS-1949) and Sue Perrin of Fort Worth and
Donald Ray (RHS-1954) and Melba Perrin of Fort Worth; a
sister-in-law, LaHoma Perrin of Fort Worth; a brother-
in-law and wife, Odis and Joyce Fox of Oxnard, CA; an
aunt, Lola Sparks of Big Spring; an uncle, Bob Staggs
of Fort Worth; and many nieces and nephews.
HUSBAND: MARVIN JAMES TARVER, 85, of Rising Star,
TX, formerly of Ranger, TX died Oct. 13, 2002, with
burial was at the Evergreen Cemetery in Ranger.
Mr. Tarver was born in Eastland, TX, on August 27,
1917, to the late James Ollie and Lettie Lee Norton
Tarver. He was a graduate of Eastland High School. He
served in the Army during World War II from 1943 to 1946.
He was also owner/operator of a cleaning business in
Ranger before retiring. He was preceded in death by his
parents and his wife, Cleo Perrin Tarver.
Survivors were a sister, Joyce Ann Fox and her husband,
Otis Fox of Oxnard, CA; and a brother-in-law, Billie
Jack Perrin of Fort Worth.
