NETTIE HELEN HATFIELD WHITE WADE, 86,
was born on Oct. 25, 1921 in Ranger, TX to Lou
Belle (Skinner) & John Alec Hatfield, and died
on Sept. 23, 2008 in Wichita Falls, TX, with
burial in Evergreen Cemetery at Ranger.
Helen married Carl E. White, Sr. in Jan. of 1940.
He preceded her in death on Jan. 20, 1978. In Nov.
of 1984, she married Melvin C. Wade and lived in
Odessa until his death in 1991. Also preceding her
in death was her youngest son, Donnie White (RHS-
1974), who died in 2007. Helen worked for the Ranger
Independent School District, managing the cafeteria
at Young School Elementary. She transferred from
there to Ranger Jr. College's cafeteria, where she
retired. She and Carl raised their family in the
Second Baptist Church of Ranger. She was well known
for her baking-especially cakes & divinity candy.
At the time of her death she was a member of Lamar
Baptist Church and living in the Alzheimer Unit
at Texoma Christian Care Center in Wichita Falls.
Helen is survived by her children: Charles White
(RHS-1960) of Ranger, Gene White (RHS-1961) of Archer
City, Linda Kay White (RHS-1967) & Joe Miller of
Wichita Falls, and daughter-in-law, Ginger White
of Wichita Falls. 8 grandchildren, Sandy Stone-
Thornton (Andy), Clay Miller (Kitty), Karla Landours
(Tony), Kari White, and Cody White all of Wichita
Falls, Misti White Berend of Archer City, Rodney
White Fisher of Ranger, and Heather White Ce De
Baca of Azle, 11 great-grandchildren, numerous
nieces and nephews, and many good friends.
