EDITH MAY TAYLOR SLY, 70, passed away on Oct. 2,
1991. She was born on Feb. 8, 1921 and graduated
from Ranger High School in the Class 1938 at Ranger,
TX. Her married name was Sly. Her children were
Lavonda Sly Wheeler, and another daughter & a son.
SON: RICHARD SLY, 63, formerly of Wichita Falls,
TX, passed away Dec. 30, 2012 in Smyrna, TN.
A son of the late Wendell and Edith Taylor Sly, he
was born Oct. 20, 1949 in Ranger, TX. He was a
graduate of Henrietta High School, and Midwestern
State University. He was a former Plant Manager
for Siemens Energy and Automation in Raliegh, NC,
and in Grand Prairie retiring in 2004, as well as
holding various positions at Siemens in Wichita
Falls. In 2009, he retired from Schneider Electric
Square D in Smyrna, TN, he was the Plant Operations
Manager.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Allen "Liz"
Sly of Smyrna, TN; his daughters, Dr. Amy Sly Sikes
& husband Brian of Lubbock, Karen Sly Schaap and
husband Robert of Coppell, and Kelli Sly Aparicio
and husband Oscar of Smyrna, TN; his son, Richard
Sly and fiance Danielle McGuone of Raliegh, NC; two
sisters, Patsy Sly Betts and husband Don of Wichita
Falls, and Lavonda Sly Wheeler and husband Babe of
Henrietta; five grandchildren; and numerous nieces
& nephews.
