LUCILE PRISCILLA MILLER, 90, of Williamsburg,
VA died on Oct. 17, 2011, with burial in Arlington
National Cemetery.
She was born in Heidenheimer, TX, and spent her
early years in Ranger, TX. She was in the Class
of 1938/1939 at Ranger High School. Upon graduation
from Baylor University School of Nursing in Dallas,
she commissioned into the Navy where she served as
a nurse anesthetist. She retired after 23 years of
active duty, achieving the rank of commander. In her
early years, when she was not tending to the sick
and wounded in Korea, Vietnam and Japan, she was
considered to be an excellent dancer. Upon retirement
from the Navy, she enjoyed and excelled in golf at
the Williamsburg Country Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert F.
Miller and Mae Whatley Miller of Heidenheimer, TX;
sister, Alda Mae Miller Heltzel (RHS-1936); brothers,
Albert J. Miller (RHS-1932) of Windsor, CA, and
William M. Miller (RHS-1930) of Trinidad, TX.
She is survived by her nephews, Robert J. Miller of
Grand Prairie, TX, Albert L. Miller of Indio, CA,
and Andrew of CA; and her special friend, Ella Mae
Walker of Williamsburg.
