BUFORD WAGGONER, 86, of San Angelo, TX passed
away on Dec. 19, 2007, with burial at Merriman
Cemetery near Ranger, TX.
Buford was born on Nov. 21, 1921 in Ranger to
Charles W. & Alta Wells Waggoner. He graduated
from Ranger High School in 1939. He honored his
country by serving in the U.S. Army Air Force
during World War II. He flew 35 missions over
Germany operating as a B-17 "Belly-Gunner". He
was awarded a Purple Heart having been wounded
over Colblenz, Germany in 1944.
He married his wife of over 67 years, Roselle
Nicholson (RHS-1939) in July of 1940 in Ranger.
At the time of his death, Buford was survived by
his loving wife Roselle of San Angelo; sons,
Richard Waggoner of San Angelo and Alan Waggoner
and wife Lois of Vernon; a daughter, Susan Waggoner
Clark and husband Larry of San Angelo; five grand-
daughters, Shelley Waggoner Boyd and husband Joe
of San Angelo, Leslie Waggoner Hayes and husband
Lex of Corsicana, Lacy Clark of San Antonio,
Christy Waggoner DeLeon and husband Trent of China
Springs and Mary Megan Clark of San Antonio; one
great grandson, Cody Wayne Hayes; a brother,
Charles Loyd Waggoner of New Orleans; one brother-
in-law, Lynn Nicholson and wife Beverly of Lake
Leon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his two
brothers, H.O. Waggoner (RHS-1932) & Woody Waggoner
(RHS-1930), and a nephew Brad Alan Nicholson.
