JAMES C. RUSSELL, 83, a resident of Stroud, OK
was born in Ranger, TX, on Jan. 5, 1922 & departed
this life in Stroud, OK on May 27, 2005 at the
age of 83 years, with burial in the Stroud
Cemetery.
James was the son of Clara Estes & Hugh Russell.
James was a resident of Stroud most of his life.
He graduated from Ranger High School in the Class
of 1940, retired from American Dynamic Oil Co.,
and was a member of the First Baptist Church in
Stroud. He was in the U.S. Army where he served
in WWII. James married Billie Raye Webb in Sept.
of 1999 at Evergreen, CO. He was preceded in
death by his wife of 43 years, Wilma in 1989,
parents, and a brother, Lee C. Russell (RHS-1932).
Survivors include: wife, Billie Raye of the home;
two sons, Warner Webb of Houston, TX, and Vincent
Webb of Little Elm, TX; two daughters, Kris Ann
Russell of Idledale, TX, and Tracie Russell Jones
of McKinney, TX; & two grandchildren, Travis Webb
and Austin Jones.
James C. Russell had an adventurous spirit, a quick
wit and wry humor, a meticulous exacting nature,
and the eye and hand of the true artist. He became
an impressively self taught individual. He was a
Baptist Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, Master Mason,
roustabout, boss, VP of an Oil & Gas Company and an
accomplished artist. He was a dear friend, steadfast
husband and loving father.
