HERSHEL E. EYLEY, 87, passed away on April 14, 2011,
in Tyler, TX, with interment at Bascom Cemetery.
He was born May 29, 1923, in Ranger, TX to the late
William & Mary Angus Eyley. Hershel attended Ranger
High School in the Class of 1940 and was in the band.
He had lived in Tyler the past 50 years and had also
lived in Denton and Ranger. He was a psychologist,
served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II
and was a Methodist.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Eyley. His
brother was Charles Eyley (RHS-1938) who died in 1974.
Survivors at the time of his death, include a son and
daughter-in-law, Paul and Yolanda Eyley of Tyler;
daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Freddie Carlile of
Tyler; three grandchildren, Chris, Shana and Travis;
and six great-grandchildren.
BROTHER: BILL EYLEY died in Ranger at his home in 1999.
He was the son of William and Mary Angus Eyley. He
may have attended RHS but his class is unknown. Bill
worked at Anderson Chevrolet in Ranger for many years
as service manager. His daughter is Jo Ann Eyley
(RHS-1974) of Duncanville, TX.
