JACK WALLACE, 83, of Palestine, TX, died
Dec. 25, 2006, with burial at Roselawn Park in
Palestine.
He was born July 15, 1923 in Caddo, TX, to Harry
Wallace & Katreen Mosely Wallace. He attended
Ranger High School in the Class of 1940 at Ranger,
TX but graduated at Electra, TX. Jack graduated
from Nixon's Business College, Palestine in 1941,
received his BBA from the University of Texas
at Austin in 1953 and received his Appraiser's
Certification from S.M.U. at Dallas. He worked
17 years with an oil company. His experience
included owning a petroleum products wholesale
and retail company. He later became a member of
the Houston Home-builders Association building
many homes in Houston and Palestine. Mr. Wallace
was a Sergeant in the infantry and a Second
Lieutenant in the Engineers, National Guard.
After returning to Palestine, he worked as a
field supervisor for a non-profit organization.
His last work experience was as owner & operator
of a small travel/tour company.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a
son, John J. "Jim" Wallace.
His proudest accomplishments have been the 65
years of marriage to his wife, Mary and his love
for his family. He is survived by his loving wife,
Mary, his son Robert and wife Anne residing in
Alabama, his daughter Debbie Tate and husband
David residing in Bandera, TX, a brother Jim
Wallace (RHS-1943) & wife Margaret residing in
Levelland, TX & a sister Mary Ann Cowan (RHS-1954)
and husband Richard residing in Tampa, FL; a
grandson, Kenneth Siegel of Houston and grand-
daughter, Heather Oldbury of Houston. Jack also
had three great-grandchildren.
