REBA "GG" HUTCHINSON JORDAN, 92, of
Nacogdoches, TX passed away on May 29, 2015.
Reba was born in Ranger, TX on March 3, 1923, to
Charles Hutchinson & Blanche Ellis Hutchinson. She
was given the name, Reba Charles, but to her loving
family and especially her wonderful great-grand-
children and on she was called “GG”. She graduated
from Ranger High School in 1940 and shortly after
moved to Houston, TX with her family. She married
and later moved to California, with her husband,
John Harris, where she worked in the U.S. Federal
Reserve during World War II. She moved back to
Houston, where she went on to work at the Houston
Police Department as a key punch operator. Reba
became a licensed beautician while living in
Houston in 1963. In her early years Reba enjoyed
going fishing and hunting. She also loved flowers,
and was crazy to educate her grandchildren and
great-grandchildren. She was a great cook. Reba
loved cooking her meals for her family when she
could. In 1965, Reba moved to Nacogdoches and
continued working as a beautician.
At the time of her death, Reba was survived by her
son, Charles Box and his wife, Maxine; daughter,
Reba Taylor; sisters, Martha Hutchinson Stallings
(RHS-1941), Betty Carrington, & Katherine Johnson;
six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and
six great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles
Hutchinson & Blanche Ellis Hutchinson; husbands,
John Harris, Paul Box, Sr., and Charles Jordan;
brother, Jack Hutchinson (RHS-1937).
