JAMES A. TOWNZEN, 76, died in May of 1999, in a
Granbury, TX, with interment at Merriman Cemetery
near Ranger, TX.
Mr. Townzen was born in Strawn and lived most of
his life in Ranger before moving to Stephenville
in 1987. He married Druanne Nicholson (RHS-1941)
in Ranger in March of 1946. He served in the U.S.
Navy during World War II with the Seabees. He is
a former employee of Southwestern Bell and retired
from GTE as a supervisor. He was a past president
of Ranger Chamber of Commerce and Ranger Lions Club.
He was a former member of the Ranger Junior College
Board of Regents. He was a member of the Oak Dale
United Methodist Church and was a Mason.
He had one son, Terry Townzen (RHS-1962); and two
daughters, Lisa Davis and Pat Cheek.
