AARON E. HOWTON, JR., 77, of Ranger, TX on
Dec. 1, 2001 at Weatherford, TX, with burial in the
Mt. Zion Cemetery.
Mr. Howton was born on July 2, 1924 in Ranger, TX
to Aaron E. and Lillie A. (Bradford) Howton, Sr. He
attended school at Frankell Community & was a graduate
of Ranger High School in 1941. He worked for North
American Aviation before entering the Army Air Corps
in 1942 in Mineral Wells, Texas. Serving during World
War II as a fighter pilot in Germany and France. He
was discharged from France in 1944. He met and married
Betty Bargsley in August of 1947 in Mineral Wells, TX.
They lived in Ranger where he served on the Ranger
School Board. He went to work for Southwestern Bell
Telephone, transferring to Weatherford where he spent
20 of his 35 years. When he retired in 1982, he moved
back to Ranger. He was a member of the Ranger Masonic
Lodge #738 AF & AM for over 25 years. He was a member
of the First Baptist Church in Ranger.
Survivors at the time of his death are his wife, Betty
Howton of Ranger; a son and his wife, Eddy and Nelda
Howton of Salado; two daughters and husbands, Peggy and
Jerry Puckett of Page, Arizona and Brenda and Bobby Hall
of Weatherford; one brother and wife, Lloyd (RHS-1939)
and Marjorie Howton of Plano; six grandchildren, Stacy
and husband Chris Randolph of Plano, Jason A. and wife
Niki Howton of Round Rock, Colton Puckett, Clayton
Puckett both of Page, Arizona, B.J. and Luke Hall both
of Weatherford; 3 great-grandchildren, Peyton Randolph,
Haley and Hunter Aaron Howton; numerous nieces & nephews.
Note: His wife, Betty Ruth Bargsley Howton, passed
away Dec. 18, 2017 at the age of 91, with burial in Mt.
Zion Cemetery.
