RICHARD COX died in 1993. His parents were Jesse
& Dewey Cox, Sr. He attended Ranger High School in
the Class of 1942 at Ranger, TX. Richard was in
the U.S. Navy during WWII and was later recalled
during the Korean War. He married Faye Meyers of
Hillsboro, and they had five children, all RHS
graduates: Linda Faye Cox (RHS-1968), Dickey Cox
(RHS-1975), Debbie Cox (RHS-1978), Lyndon Cox (RHS-
1982), and Gary Wayne Cox (RHS-1994). He graduated
from Hardin Simmons University and was County
Treasurer for Eastland County for two terms.
He had two brothers, Charles M. Cox (RHS-1945) and
Dewey Cox (RHS-1941), and two sisters, Betty Cox
Dillinder (RHS-1951) of Bridgeport, TX, & Delores
Cox Cheshire (RHS-1953) of San Antonio. Faye Cox
lives in Ranger.
