DELORIS OPAL WOODS BUNN, 74, of Sweetwater,
TX died on Dec. 31, 2000, with burial in Garden of
Memories Cemetery.
Mrs. Bunn was born in Ranger, TX & married H.D. Bunn
there. She was a graduate of Ranger High School in the
Class of 1943 and Draughon's Business College. She
did ranch work most of her life.
Survivors at the time of her death include her husband,
H.D. Bunn, of Sweetwater; three daughters, Kay Whitworth,
and Karen Rainey, both of Sweetwater, and Kristy Bunn of
Ranger; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandsons.
HUSBAND: H.D. BUNN, 91 passed away at Rolling
Plains Memorial Hospital in Sweetwater, TX on Jan. 1,
2015 with interment at Garden of Memories Cemetery.
H.D. was born Feb. 19, 1923 in Lawrence County, AR. He
married Deloris Opal Woods (RHS-1943) in June of 1944 at
Ranger, TX. H.D. was a Baptist. He lived in Ranger, TX
from 1938 to 1942 and then moved to Sweetwater and Fisher
County area since. He did spend 1942 to 1943 working in
air craft factory and for Carl Page Plumbing. Most of his
life was spent in dairy, farming, and ranching industries.
Survivors at the time of his death include two daughters
Kay Whitworth of Sweetwater, Kristi Holland of Blackwell,
TX; sisters Lovess Curlee of Lubbock, TX, Evalyn Bates of
Sweetwater, TX, Lauretta Adams & husband Ira of Hamilton,
TX; grandson B. D. Rainey & Amber Shirley of Sweetwater;
three granddaughters Lolly Roland and husband Larry of
Blackwell, TX, Trudi Whitworth of Santa Rosa, CA, Sabrina
Whitworth of Clyde, TX; son-in-law Rock Rainey of Sweetwater,
TX; ten great-grandsons; two great-great-grandsons; his
extended Family of Homer Grimes, Tana Fomby, Barbara Gray;
and his dog Rider all of Sweetwater, TX; and several nieces,
nephews & cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife Deloris Bunn, a daughter
Karen Rainey, mother-in-law Tollie Norton, and a grandson
Jeffrey Woods.
DAUGHTER: KAREN "BEM" BUNN RAINEY, 61, passed
away April 15, 2014. She was a Fisher County, TX
resident.
Mrs. Rainey was born in Ranger, TX on Oct. 29, 1952.
Karen & her family moved to Sweetwater from Ranger in
1957. She was a graduate of Sweetwater High School in
1971. She then graduated from Bauder Fashion College in
the Ft. Worth area with an Associates Degree. Karen
married A.L. “Rock” Rainey in March of 1974. She was the
Office Manager for the TV Cable Company in Sweetwater
from 1976 until 1993. She currently worked for the City
of Snyder in the water department as a water meter
technician. Karen wore the hats of many trades and was
a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother
and friend to many. Her passion was animals of all
types as was her mothers.
Survivors include: husband-Rock Rainey of Sweetwater;
son-B.D. Rainey and Amber Shirley of Sweetwater; father-
H.D. Bunn of Sweetwater; sisters-Kay Whitworth of Sweet-
water, Kristi Holland of Blackwell, TX; grandsons-Dustin
Barnes, Tate Rainey and Kyler Rainey; step-grandchildren-
Kyler Covington & Kaige Covington; great-grandson Tayce
Barnes & Curry Bewley of Sweetwater, who Karen considered
a second son.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Deloris (Woods)
Bunn (RHS-1943) in 2000.
MOTHER: CARRAH "TOLLY" WOODS NORTON, 80, of
Sweetwater, TX a former Ranger, TX resident who died March 8,
1984 in Sweetwater, TX. Burial was in Pioneer Cemetery at
Ranger.
Born Dec. 4, 1904, in Eastland County, TX she was a retired
rancher. She had lived in Sweetwater for three years,
moving from Ranger. She was a member of the Ranger Church
of Christ.
Survivors at the time of her death include a daughter,
Deloris Bunn (RHS-1943) of Sweetwater; 3 granddaughters,
Kristi Bunn, Karen Rainey and Kay Whitworth, all of
Sweetwater; and four great-grandchildren.
