ELLA JUANITA LOVE DOBBS, 94, of Lubbock, TX passed
away on Jan. 30, 2021, surrounded by her beloved
family.
Juanita was born on Oct. 10, 1926 in Ranger, TX to
George Columbus Love & Cora Dona (Blackwell) Love.
She graduated from Ranger High School in the Class
of 1943 and attended Ranger Jr. College. At the age
of 17, she married Clarence Horn, and they eventually
moved to Lubbock, Texas, where she raised their three
children, Tim, Tanna, and Tye.
In addition to being the loving & undisputed matriarch
of the family, Juanita was a working mother, holding
positions as the office secretary at Rush Elementary,
the (self-proclaimed) worst gift wrapper at Dunlap's
Department Store, and most notably, the bookkeeper at
Sunset Church of Christ for over 20 years?a position
she loved?except perhaps on the days she was unable to
go home to watch "Days of our Lives" on her lunch break.
Later in life, Juanita married Jim Dobbs and they enjoyed
traveling together and hosting family & friends in their
home. Juanita loved a theme party. But she enjoyed nothing
more than her family, who lovingly referred to her as "The
Gagoo".
Juanita will be deeply missed by her family and friends
for her quick wit and big heart. She is preceded in death
by her parents; her sister, Charlotte Green; husband,
Jim Dobbs; and her beloved cat, Jeter.
She is survived by her three children, Tim Horn, Tanna
Lazaroff, Tye Horn, and their spouses; six grandchildren
and their spouses; and seven great-grandchildren.
