GENE H. FALK, 87, passed away on April 3 , 2014
in Abilene, TX, with burial at Evergreen Cemetery
in Ranger, TX.
Gene was born on Sept. 23, 1926 in Ranger, TX to
Ada (Rose) Falk & Gus H. Falk. Gene graduated
from Ranger High School in 1944 and Ranger Jr.
College. He served In The US Navy from 1944-1946.
He was aboard the USS Providence (which was the
flag ship of the Mediterranean).
He was preceded in death by wife Ruth (Larvick)
Falk in 1991. Gene worked for Texas Elec Ser Co.
In right of Way and retired in 1987 with 35 yrs.
service.
Survivors at the time of his death include son
Elton L. Falk, daughter Sandra J. Falk & daughter
Brenda J. (Falk) Basham and husband Lonnie J.
Basham, 2 granddaughters Monica (Basham) Mills,
and husband Robert Mills, and Stacie (Basham)
Chronister and husband Daniel Chronister, 4 great-
granddaughters, Maurin L. Chronister and Reilly
J. Chronister, Taylor L. Lunday and Abby E. Lunday
all from Buda, TX, 1 sister Margie Falk Lasater
(RHS-1946) & husband A.D. Lasater of Carbon, TX,
and 2 brothers James E. Falk (RHS-1954) and wife
Betty Falk of Pittsburg, TX, Ray Falk (RHS-1955)
and wife Faye Falk of Georgetown, TX, 6 nephews,
2 nieces, Ron Lasater, Lyndon Lasater, Terry Lasater,
Frederick Falk, Duane Falk, Kevin Falk, Delaina
(Falk) Hammock and Debra (Falk) Johnson. Also
numerous great-great-nieces and nephews, first
cousins Patsy Duckworth and husband Bill, and
Betty Parrish and husband Jim all of Oklahoma.
Gene was also preceded in death by wife Claudia
(Peel) Falk in 2010, step-children include Doris
(Peel) Cozart and husband Tommy, Claudette Peel,
Jeannette Sellars, Ernest Peel and wife Sharon.
Gene and Ruth were members of Bethel Baptist Church
in Eastland. He served as a Deacon during the 60’s
and 70’s. Gene loved traveling with Ruth on his
Gold Wing Cycle across Texas. Also RV’ing with Ruth
and later with Claudia. He also loved art & golfing
and played the harmonica.
DAUGHTER: SANDRA JEAN FALK, 69, passed away on
Feb. 7, 2018 in Fort Worth, TX.
Sandra was born Nov. 17, 1948 in Fort Worth to Gene
H. Falk (RHS-1944) & Ruth Ann Falk. She is a graduate
of Tarleton State University. She taught school for
many years and worked for the State of Texas in Austin.
While in Austin she attended Allendale Baptist Church
where she was an active member of the choir.
Survivors are a niece, Monica L. Mills (Basham) and
husband Robert W. Mills of Buda, TX, niece Statie D.
Chronister (Basham) and husband Daniel Chronister of
Buda; four great-nieces, Maurin L. Chronister, Taylor
L. Lunday, Reilly J. Chronister and Abby E. Lunday,
all of Buda; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; a
sister, Brenda J. Falk Basham and spouse Lonnie J.
Basham of Buda; & a brother, Elton L. Falk of Lake
Leon.
