WANDA LOUISE GRAVES MURPHY, 90, passed
away from this world into God's kingdom on Aug. 8,
2016, with burial in City Cemetery at San Marcos, TX.
Born in Acker Community, Stephens Cty, TX, on Feb. 5,
1926, she was the daughter of Marion Eugene Graves &
Lula Anna Hand Graves. She attended Ranger High School
in the Class of 1944 at Ranger, TX. Wanda enjoyed
swimming most of her life & was part of a synchronized
swimming team in the 1960's. She loved dancing & found
great pleasure square dancing for many years with her
husband Bill. Wanda was a talented seamstress and great
cook.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death
by her husband of 70 years William "Bill" Horace Murphy,
with whom she was able to enjoy 35 happy years at their
Canyon Lake home before moving to Boerne.
Mrs. Murphy is survived by her sons, James Murphy and
his wife, Mary, and Ronald Murphy and his wife, Janice;
grandchildren, Wayne Murphy and his wife, Shannon,
Margaret Tripp and her husband, Brian, Nina Wingrove
and her husband, Christopher, Tracy Reed & her husband,
Kyle; and seven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces,
nephews, and cousins. Also, Mrs. Murphy is survived by
one remaining sister-in-law, Velma McMickell Murphy.
Furthermore, Wanda was preceded in death by her sister
and brother-in-law Ada Francis Graves Franz and Raymond
Franz, brother & sister-in-law Marion Eugene Graves, Jr.
(RHS-1941) and Nita Jones Graves, brother, James Bonny
Lavon Graves (RHS-1941), sister & brother-in-law Treva
Joy Graves Venable and Fred Venable.
