BETTY JEAN NEVILLE McCLENDON, 71, a medical technologist,
died on Jan. 4, 2001, in Dallas, with interments in Rose
Hill Cemetery in Fort Worth. She was the wife of Eugene
McClendon for 39 years.
Betty Jean McClendon was born Sept. 13, 1929, in Ranger,
TX. Her parents were Leila & Dan Neville. She was preceded
in death by her sister, Rubye Joyce Sage. She attended
Ranger High School in the Class of 1947 but graduated
from Polytechnic High School in Fort Worth, and was an
honor graduate at Texas Christian University. She was a
technologist at Methodist and Baylor hospitals. She
served as president and treasurer of the TCU Alumnae
Women's Club of Dallas. She was a member of the Park
Cities Baptist Church and was a member of the Morrine
George Sunday School Class for 30 years. She was a
caring and thoughtful person, and sensitive to the
needs of others.
Survivors at the time of her death: husband of 39 years,
Eugene McClendon; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Joe
and Marion McClendon of Bullhead City, AZ; cousins,
Harry and Betty Neville of College Station; sister-in-law,
Mary E. McClendon of Arlington; brother-in-law, Lucius
Smith of Fort Worth; and many loving nieces and nephews.
